Early summer (November) can be lovely, and in late summer and autumn (March) the colours are stunning. But if you’re planning to go riding in the open steppes, midsummer is wonderful. Avoid the peak summer months of January and February, since the trails in the park are particularly crowded at this time. At any time of year, Torres del Paine has its own microclimate: unpredictable. People will often tell you to expect all seasons in a single day.
To start planning your holiday to Hosteria Lago Grey
Hosteria Lago Grey is a rustic style guest house located on the west side of the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile with views to the spectacular Paine horns, glaciers and Lake Grey. Offering simple but comfortable accommodations in the park itself.
Hosteria Lago Grey offers 30 spacious and comfortable rooms with a restaurant and bar. Most of the rooms have lake views overlooking the millenarian ices of Grey Glacier and the conservatory is perfect for relaxing.
The hosteria offers an ideal base from which to explore the National Park. It is also possible to take part in many activities from Hosteria Lago Grey such as sailing to the base of the glacier in their own vessel, Grey II, ice trekking or walking and admiring the scenery and nature around the park.
The Hotel has 60 spacious and comfortable rooms at Superior and Standard levels. The 36 Superior rooms overlook the stunning Paine and Grey Lake and Glacier. All rooms are comfortable, with heating and Wi-Fi, and are surrounded by nature and the beautiful scenery of Torres del Paine National Park.
Children are welcome at Hosteria Lago Grey although there are no formal children's facilities. A stay here is most likely to suit slightly older children, who will enjoy the adventurous side of exploring the park and will be able to participate in some of the outdoor activities.
This spruce little white hosteria is tucked within a beech forest, looking out onto the beach at Lago Grey and the astounding blue icebergs that drift to its shore. It's well on the other side of the park, but the view is better here than at the Hostería Las Torres, and they have a transfer van and guides for excursions to all reaches of the park, for an extra cost. The 30 recently spruced-up rooms are spread out from a main common area, a thoroughly enjoyable place to relax, with a restaurant, outdoor deck, and lounge area. The price suggests more luxurious rooms, but the walls are a tad thin and have little decoration. Also, when the wind whips up, this side of the park is colder. Another problem is that nothing is included except for breakfast; expect to rack up quite a bill on expensive extras, such as transfers and other meals. On the plus side, there are plenty of trails that branch out from here, including the stroll along the beach out to the Pingo Valley and the strenuous hike up to Mirador Ferrier.
