In the western, central and eastern Bhutan you will mostly experience cold European-like weather. Winter lasts here from November to March. The Monsoon occurs between June and August when the temperature is normally between 8° and 21°C. October and November are arguably the best months, when the monsoon has passed and the skies are clear. The spring months of March, April and May are best for the flora, but it can be stormy as the monsoon builds up for July-September.

Day 1-3

Thimphu, Bhutan

Welcome to Bhutan, a landlocked Himalayan kingdom and one of the last truly unspoilt destinations in the world. Upon arrival in Paro, you will be greeted by your private guide and driver who will be with you throughout your trip, providing harmonious transfers and niche expert knowledge to help you capture the paramount of Bhutan.

Just a short one-hour drive from Paro, your first stop is Thimphu. Bhutan’s own mini-metropolis with an expanding bubble of shopping facilities, monasteries and apartments that sit effortlessly against the dramatic backdrop of entrancing blue-pine forest. You’re staying in the opulent Taj Tashi. Known for its prime location and universal levels of service and cuisine, we’ll curate an exemplary day of exploration so that you leave no Thimphu stone unturned. Your driver will take you to the many historic sites, each with their own stupendousness. Feel the fresh Himalayan air on your cheeks as you gaze at the astonishing 50-metre-tall Buddha Dordenma. Admire the architectural brilliance of the National Memorial Chorten. Meander through the prismatic weekend market, and simply sit and watch the world go by as you quench your thirst with a local beverage.

After a busy day investigating the city, head back to Taj Tashi and repose in the Jiva Spa. Offering signature treatments based on the illustrious lifestyle of Indian royalty and the healing therapies of Indian spirituality, Jiva Spa is intriguing to the senses yet calming to the mind. Tear yourself away from the serenity and tantalise your tastebuds in Taj Tashi’s exquisite cuisine, one of Bhutan’s much-admired fine-dining restaurants.

Day 3-5

Punakha, Bhutan

The limitless horizons of Punakha await you. Enjoy a picturesque two-hour drive as you are transferred to the stunning COMO Uma Punakha, your home for the next two nights. Perched on the hillside and overlooking the Punakha Valley, this luxurious and remote boutique lodge offers a sublime wilderness immersion coupled with first-class service. The Jewel in Punakha’s crown is its awe-inspiring scenery, so grab your walking boots, meet your local guide and trek through the vista before tucking into a picnic lunch with extraordinary views.

Historically known as Bhutan’s capital city, Punakha offers a culturally rich escapade for you to uncover. Promenade through whitewashed homesteads and farmland to the ornate and elaborate Khamsum Yuley Namgay Chorten. Amble along the riverside to view the conspicuous Punakha Dzong and absorb its prolific history. Delve into the luscious rice paddies and meander to the Temple of Fertility. Round off your day in the hotel’s restaurant and allow us to book you a table on the little terrace where you can enjoy international or local cuisine al fresco.

Day 5-8

Gangtey, Bhutan

Your Bhutan adventure continues from strength to strength as you make your way to the awe-inspiring glacial Phojikha Valley. Here you’ll stay two nights at the lavish Gangtey lodge, famed for the migrating, black-necked cranes and its jaw-dropping views over the verdant valley. Lovingly designed to incorporate every sense of style and comfort, this luxurious lodge ticks all the boxes. During your stay here were will arrange various day treks into the enthralling hills that embrace numeral panoramic views of the bewitching Himalayas.

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast before venturing into the emerald hills to soak up the region in all its glory. Trek through the nearby villages and pit stop for a traditional butter tea as you are welcomed into the home of a local Bhutanese family. On your last evening, bid farewell to the Phobjikha Valley with evening prayers at the Gangtry Goenpa Monastery. Feel a sense of inner peace as you bask in silence and listen to ambience of nature. Composed and content, roam back to the hotel for an unparallel bathing experience in the freestanding bathtub overlooking the valley.

Day 8-10

Paro, Bhutan

Your final stop on this journey is Paro, a flourishing village characterised by sumptuous 3-storey farmhouses and blue-pine forests that border snow-clad mountains.
