Gothenburg is a year round destination but is at its best in spring, summer and December. From May to September temperatures are warm, early twenties but in the height of summer can reach up to 30 degrees and the sun doesn't set until around 10:30pm, rising at around 3:00am so you can really pack a lot in! A lot of Swedes have summer houses in Marstrand and it's a great opportunity to do some sailing. During the winter temperatures do get cold but it is a great place to go for a pre-Christmas getaway.

Gothenburg is a charming city to explore and has masses to offer. Our fabulous guides Ebba and Anne have a never ending list of exciting things to do to keep you busy. One of their most popular options is to do a Segway tour of the city which is huge fun, or kayak along the Göta River taking in the sights as you paddle. Ride Nordsvenska horses a few miles south of Gothenburg in a town called Kungsbacka, play golf at the Hills Golf & Country club, during the summer try the West Coast tour of the archipelago stopping at Åstols famous smoke house restaurant. Marstrand is a small island just off Gothenburg renowned for its sailing - it makes a wonderful day trip, you can sail, go to the beach, walk around the fortress and eat some of the freshest seafood Sweden has to offer.

Upper House is the perfect Scandinavian weekend break. As you enter the elevator and get off on the very top floor to the most amazing views of the city, you can't help feel that wow factor. The rooms are incredible and offer the very best amenities and the most comfortable bed you could ever want, it makes it hard to leave and explore the city! The breakfast is not to be missed and the pool in the spa is one of the highlights, with a glass bottom to look down 20 floors, not for the faint hearted. All in all a truly amazing hotel and the very best in Gothenberg in my view.
