Average time to visit

Stockholm is a year round destination but is at its best in spring, summer and December. From May to September temperatures are warm, early twenties but in the height of summer can reach up to 30 degrees and the sun doesn't set until around 10:30pm, rising at around 3:00am so you can really pack a lot in! During the winter temperatures do get cold but it is a great place to go for a pre-Christmas getaway.

The Terrace bar at the Lydmar is located on the second floor and draws locals and guests together each night from May to September. The bar is located in a beautiful garden and is the perfect spot to enjoy delicious cocktails and on certain nights enjoy live music.

There are numerous objects dotted around the rooms and communal areas which were bought by Per ‘Pelle’ Lydmar on his travels.

A real plus point for the Lydmar is having access to the Grand's Raison d'Etre Spa, so set an hour or two aside to make the most of it.

Be sure to book your table for dinner in the trendy restaurant as it is very popular with the locals.

Borrow one of the board games or the art books from the dining room to enjoy in your room in the evening.

Lydmar hotel features a huge array of artwork, regularly changing due to the exhibitions it holds on a seasonal basis. A real delight for art and photography buffs.

The Lydmar Hotel and its 46 beautifully appointed rooms has justly become Stockholm's best new boutique hotel. With the informal and relaxed atmosphere paired with the effortlessly stylish and contemporary décor and stellar location it's easy to see why!

The Lydmar Hotel is fabulously located on the waterfront neighboured by The Grand and the National Museum with views across the water to the Old Town and Stockholm's Royal Palace. The city's sites are all a short stroll away and even better, two of the city's Michelin star restaurants are just next door.

Recently opened, the Lydmar has been refurbished to feel like a home from home. Its 45 rooms are beautifully decorated in a contemporary classic style with dark wooden floors, king size beds and slate bathrooms. No two rooms are the same and each have their own personal touch such as inviting armchairs, sumptuous velvet sofas and ornate fireplaces.

The Lydmar's enviable contemporary art collection adorns the walls throughout and the lobby plays host to regular art exhibitions and small concerts. The hotel's restaurant and lounge resembles a drawing room in a private manor house. With a relaxed atmosphere, inviting leather armchairs and sofas, tables and shelves piled with books and newspapers and huge windows offering stunning city and water views, it's the perfect place to linger over the delicious international bistro fare served all throughout the day.

During the summer the Lydmar becomes a hotspot for Stockholm's trendiest set with its sprawling waterfront terrace and its more intimate, but no less lively, roof terrace a few floors up.

Stockholm offers a huge amount to see and do. The city is filled with art galleries, museums, cobbled streets dotted with boutique and designer shops and delicious restaurants - we have some fantastic guides who can give you a tour and show you some hidden gems within the city. Hiring a bicycle is a great way to spend the day and see the city - there are organised tours or you can explore on your own. For the more adventurous catch a rib ride around the archipelago, or alternatively rent a kayak to take in the sites at a more leisurely pace! During the height of the summer you might like to go and spend a few hours at one of the city's beaches and you can even swim, right in the city centre as the water is so clean!

What an uber cool hotel! This is the perfect place for couples and families looking for a luxury stay in Stockholm. In the most lovely location, right on the river. Contemporary in style and relaxed in atmosphere, you won't want to leave this gorgeous place. I didn't!

The Lydmar is one of my favourite hotels. It has such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and it really does feel as though you are in someone's house - an incredible one at that! The rooms are incredibly elegant, the beds enormous and the art collection throughout is really fabulous. The restaurant/lounge is such a lovely place to linger over a drink or meal and the outdoor bar and terrace is the place to be during summer. Great for couples.
