The city's sites are all a short stroll away and even better, two of the city's Michelin star restaurants are just next door.
Recently opened, the Lydmar has been refurbished to feel like a home from home. Its 45 rooms are beautifully decorated in a contemporary classic style with dark wooden floors, king size beds and slate bathrooms. No two rooms are the same and each have their own personal touch such as inviting armchairs, sumptuous velvet sofas and ornate fireplaces.
The Lydmar's enviable contemporary art collection adorns the walls throughout and the lobby plays host to regular art exhibitions and small concerts. The hotel's restaurant and lounge resembles a drawing room in a private manor house. With a relaxed atmosphere, inviting leather armchairs and sofas, tables and shelves piled with books and newspapers and huge windows offering stunning city and water views, it's the perfect place to linger over the delicious international bistro fare served all throughout the day.
During the summer the Lydmar becomes a hotspot for Stockholm's trendiest set with its sprawling waterfront terrace and its more intimate, but no less lively, roof terrace a few floors up.
The Lydmar's beautifully appointed rooms, charming and helpful staff and its relaxed and homely atmosphere makes this a wonderful base from which to explore Stockholm and all it has to offer. Once you have thoroughly tired yourselves out, make your way back to the hotel and head to the Grand Hotel's fabulous Raison d'Etre Spa that Lydmar guests are welcome to enjoy.
