Average time to visit

Stockholm is a year round destination but is at its best in spring, summer and December. From May to September temperatures are warm, early twenties but in the height of summer can reach up to 30 degrees and the sun doesn't set until around 10:30pm, rising at around 3:00am so you can really pack a lot in! During the winter temperatures do get cold but it is a great place to go for a pre-Christmas getaway.

Insider's View

Each day look forward to a new and different cake or pastry in the open kitchen and help yourself to as many servings as you would like!

Make the most of the indulgent Kiehl's beauty products.

In the summer, take advantage of the walled courtyard garden for breakfast, afternoon tea or even a BBQ dinner!

After a day of exploring the city, head back to Ett Hem and tuck in to some delicious freshly baked cake and tea in the cosy living room or in summer out on the terrace.

Enjoy afternoon tea skandi style in the kitchen everyday at 3pm. The chefs cook up an absolute storm each day, totally worthy of Great Swedish Bake Off accolade!

Be sure to book at table in the conservatory for one of the most romantic dinners in Stockholm.

Ett Hem, a 12-room townhouse located in the embassy quarter of Stockholm is the ideal home from home. The atmosphere is relaxed, informal and homely yet the level of service and luxury are of the highest standards.

Ett Hem is a stunning 12-room townhouse purposefully designed to feel more like a home than a hotel. No expense has been spared in renovating the house; from the beautiful walled garden and orangery designed by Sweden's renowned landscape architect Ulf Nordfiell to the stunning interior decoration executed by our own heralded Ilse Crawford; not to mention the marble hammam and spa in the basement!

Guests are made to feel like old friends at Ett Hem with well thought out personal touches such as the open kitchen and charming chef who whips up a delicious daily tea time treat. The house is filled with a balanced mix of classic Scandinavian, bespoke 21st century and vintage pieces that make Ett Hem feel truly lived in, yet in such great condition it could be brand new.

The bedrooms, all individual as you would expect for a privately owned home, are beautifully designed with impeccable attention to detail. Features include oak parquet floors, sheepskin chairs, marble bathrooms with walk in rain showers, traditional Swedish hand-painted stoves and inviting King size beds. All come with iPads, Bamford beauty products and perilously well-stocked brass cocktail bars!

Ett Hem is conveniently situated in the Lärkstaden area of Stockholm, just a 15-minute walk from the city centre and metres away from the designer shopping and lively nightlife of Stureplan.

Stockholm offers a huge amount to see and do. The city is filled with art galleries, museums, cobbled streets dotted with boutique and designer shops and delicious restaurants - we have some fantastic guides who can give you a tour and show you some hidden gems within the city. Hiring a bicycle is a great way to spend the day and see the city - there are organised tours or you can explore on your own. For the more adventurous catch a rib ride around the archipelago, or alternatively rent a kayak to take in the sites at a more leisurely pace! During the height of the summer you might like to go and spend a few hours at one of the city's beaches and you can even swim, right in the city centre as the water is so clean!

Slaney O'Brien (Staff)

Definitely the most trendy hotel in Stockholm, perfect for couples. Reading a book in the conservatory or having a drink in the evening in the main sitting area, you feel like you are in a home more than a hotel. Never over crowded and always relaxing.

Cordelia Nicholls (Staff)

Ett Hem has to be my favourite hotel in Stockholm - the decor is stunning, the staff absolutely charming, the food delicious and the sublime beauty products are the icing on the cake! Perfect for couples looking for some luxury.
