Average time to visit
From May to August the Yala monsoon brings rain to the island’s southwestern half. The southwest has the highest rainfall – up to 4000mm a year. There is also an inter-monsoonal period in October and November when rain can occur in many parts of the island. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C. The sea stays at around 27°C all year. Climatically speaking, the driest (and best) seasons in Sri Lanka are from December to March for the west and south coasts.

-
Days 1-4: Koggala Lake
Starting off we have included three nights for you on the beautiful south coast where you can completely relax and unwind after the excitement of the wedding, just enjoying being in the company of each other. Staying in Habaraduwa you can do as little or as much as you want here with Galle just a short journey away. Wander in to explore the old fort area with an expert guide before trying one of the amazing restaurants serving the freshest of tasty seafood dishes tinged with a hint of Sri Lankan spice. We have included a lovely experience, venturing one day into the surrounding countryside exploring Kapu Ela River by boat and cycling through rural Galle, uncovering the beauty of the region.
Accommodation: KK Beach (3 nights)
-
Days 4-6: Yala National Park
From here your private chauffeur will transfer you to Yala National Park, taking just over four hours. There is something inextricably romantic about safari and we have included two nights of wildlife for you here. Spend your days exploring Sri Lanka’s premier wildlife area, with two safaris included daily before enjoying sundowners and star lit dinners by night.
Accommodation: Wild Coast Tented Lodge (2 nights)
-
Days 6-9: Nuwara Eliya
Then it is on to the beautiful hill country, surrounded by tea plantations. Your private chauffeur will again be on hand to transfer you on a journey of just over five hours. It is not hard to see why this area of Sri Lanka is sometimes referred to as ‘little England’, with its colonial tea bungalows with beautifully manicured lawns. At a higher altitude it can get a little chillier up here, which all adds to the romantic atmosphere. Spend your days with walks through the plantations and taking life slow surrounded by spectacular views.
Accommodation: Goatfell (3 nights)
-
Days 9-13: Balapitiya, South Coast, Sri Lanka
Your final four nights of your honeymoon will be back to the coast, which you will reach after a beautiful six-hour drive through Sri Lanka’s countryside. This time you’ll be in Bentota, located midway between Galle and Colombo, boasting a beautiful long stretching sandy beach.
Accommodation: Kumu Beach (4 nights)
