To start planning your holiday to KK Beach
Just 12km from historic Galle, KK Beach offers a contemporary retreat on Sri Lanka's beautifully craggy southern coast. This beach front property only opened at the end of 2016 in Habaraduwa and features six stylish suites with ocean views.
Sister property to the wonderful and eccentric Kahanda Kanda and owned and run by charismatic interior designer, George Cooper, KK Beach is one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated boutique hotels due to its unique contemporary design.
Perfectly located on a wonderful stretch of beach, just 15 minutes from the historic town of Galle, KK Beach is ideal for those looking for a cool sea breeze and easy access to UNESCO protected Galle. Home to narrow streets lined with boutiques, cafes and restaurants, Galle is a fantastic place to explore during your stay at KK Beach.
Blending contemporary design with cheerful fabrics and colourful Sri Lankan art, KK Beach has a very different vibe to the more traditional boutique hotels that pepper the hotel landscape in Sri Lanka. Expect architecture that looks a little more Miami than colonial chic - we love that it's a little different from everything else along this coast.
With only 6 suites expect attentive service, sumptuous organic cuisine and a quiet pool for you to take a dip in the heat of the afternoon. You can also catch the free shuttle service to nearby Kahanda Kanda for a change of scene at lunch or dinner. In the evening at KK Beach offers a small and authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry buffet, a seafood BBQ or Thai fusion - all depending on the night.
For those who are more active, its possible to go whale watching, cycling, deep sea fishing and even a boat trip on Koggala Lake. We can easily organise this in advance, or you can book when you are there.
We feel this is a fantastic addition to Sri Lanka's fantastic variety of boutique hotels and we have no doubt that it will be as successful as Kahanda Kanda.
There are six rooms in total spread across three different categories; Standard, Suites and Penthouse. Standard Rooms offer full height windows, king size beds with soft white linens and colourful fabrics and art. They all have large walk in showers. The Suites are a little larger with double aspect windows, a seating area and the option for a second bed. They are similar in style; chic, contemporary but also colourful. Larger again are the spoiling Penthouses; these are expansive and are on the top floor and therefore offer the best views. The terraces are wonderful with private sunloungers.
Between 1st May and 30th November, children above the age of six years old are welcome. Until 30th April and again from 1st December onwards, only teenagers aged 12 years and above may stay at the resort.Although children are welcome, we believe it is more suited for adults and couples due to the intimate feel and small number of rooms.
Facilities at KK Beach include a 20m long infinity pool, sitting room and restaurant.
The dining options at KK Beach include light lunchtime favourites including a mix of both local and international dishes. For dinner on Mondays and Wednesdays, the chef cooks up a delicious fresh curry buffet whilst on Saturdays the restaurant comes alive with a popular seafood barbecue. On the remaining evenings guests can choose from a fusion of fresh Asian dishes.
Activities at KK Beach include yoga classes with the option of a private class, in-room massages which can be easily booked and cooking lessons. Just 20-minutes away from the hotel, you'll also find the fishing town of Galle and the historical Galle Fort, filled with boutique shops and great restaurants.

I was fortunate enough to spend a couple of nights and the recently opened KK beach and I absolutely loved it! Different in design to most of the hotels along the south coast, KK Beach has opted for stylish and contemporary vibe. The hotel boasts stunning bedrooms overlooking the Indian Ocean and a magnificent pool which is perfect spot to escape the heat. The restaurant offers a relaxed and tasty lunch menu with various Sri Lankan and international dishes cooked to order. In the evenings you'll have one of Asian/fusion, Seafood BBQ or the Sri Lankan Rice and curry, just ask us which will be on when you're staying. Whilst you're here you can dine as much or as little as you'd like, it's completely up to you.

I had a wonderful stay at KK Beach, it was everything I hoped it would be and more. The epitome of laid-back luxury, this beach side hotel has been lovingly designed by renowned interior designer George Cooper, and it does not disappoint. Staying in one of the Penthouse Suites, my room boasted wonderful views of the sea and palm trees below as well as offering plenty of space to relax. Each room comes complete with all the modern amenities you might need so you can simply sit back and relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming, whilst the food was delicious. A simple but varied menu, guests are spoilt for choice and both the traditional Sri Lankan dishes, and the more modern fusion of flavours will be sure to whet anyone's appetite.
