Hopper Cooking Class at Why House
Talpe, Sri Lanka
The foodie in you will love this hands on cooking class at the beautiful Why House. A delectable Sri Lankan staple, hoppers are iconic in Sri Lanka and are delicious when served with a range of chutneys, sambols and curries.
Today you will head to Why House, a beautiful colonial boutique hotel in the small coastal town of Talpe, near Galle. Renowned for its food, the property also boasts a beautiful setting.
Here in the property's gardens, the head chef will share his secrets for making the perfect hopper. Crispy round the edges and soft on the bottom, these bowl-shaped pancakes are cooked over an open flame. A breakfast favourite, sometimes you'll find them with an egg cracked into the centre. After trying your hand at making them yourself, fill with plenty of flavours and tuck in. This is a fun experience for all to get stuck in.
Please note, this experience usually runs between 11:00 - 13:00. If you have any allergies, do let your Travel Consultant know in advance.
