A small teardrop-shaped island fringed by sparkling Indian Ocean coastline, Sri Lanka is simply spellbinding. Captivating culture, dramatic scenery, rich wildlife and tantalizing cuisine make it a country we return to time and time again. February in Sri Lanka brings beautiful weather, particularly in the central hills and in the southwest. Expect dry, sunny days and calm seas, not to mention an abundance of marine life. Dolphins, turtles and a variety of whale species frequent the waters at this time. We recommend getting out on a boat trip to see whales breaching close-up.
