Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August. A former palace in the heart of Evora, the building housing M'ar de Ar Aqueduto dates back to the 15th century and has been lovingly restored to create a contemporary, luxurious retreat.

Located in the very centre of Evora, M'ar de Ar Aqueduto is surrounded by the cobbled streets and historic sites of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a 15th century palace, this unique building boasts a medieval chapel and vaulted ceilings alongside its contemporary design.

The 64 rooms and suites at M'ar de Ar Aqueduto are decorated in a modern style, incorporating neutral colours and a minimalist décor, with large windows leading on to spacious bathrooms. The rooms boast plenty of natural light, ensuring each room feels bright and airy.

Guests can discover the flavours of Alentejo at Restaurant Degust'AR, an elegant spot surrounded by arched ceilings and frescoes. Here Alentejan cuisine is at the forefront of the menu, with contemporary Mediterranean cuisine influencing the dishes. Guests can also enjoy traditional, authentic dishes from the region at the poolside Sabores do Alentejo, or opt for a simple snack at the Degust'AR Bistro. The Aqueduto Bar is the ideal spot for a glass of wine or a delicious cocktail, with views of Evora's Roman aqueduct.

After exploring the town, guests can unwind in M'ar de Ar Aqueduto's spa, which offers a sauna, Turkish bath and Vichy shower alongside relaxing treatments. Outside, the spacious pool area is the perfect place to soak up the sun.

M'ar de Ar Aqueduto has 64 rooms and suites, decorated in a contemporary style. A selection of the rooms overlook the Roman aqueduct and others boast a private terrace. Spacious bathrooms provide both a bathtub and a walk-in shower, as well as luxurious Molton Brown amenities.


Children are welcome at M'ar de Ar Aqueduto, however there are no specific childcare facilities.


Guests have a variety of dining options at M'ar de Ar Aqueduto, from the elegant Restaurant Degust'AR to the simple and delicious traditional dishes at Sabores do Alentejo. The Degust'AR Bistro serves a range of snacks, and the Aqueduto Bar offers a cocktail menu and views of the Roman aqueduct.
