Casa da Companhia can be found on one of Porto’s most vibrant and attractive streets, Rua das Flores, in the heart of the city’s exclusive Clérigos district. Part of parent company IHG’s Vignette Collection, the hotel promises a one-of-a-kind experience, alongside a commitment to responsible travel. The building has an interesting history and was once the headquarters of the Real Companhia Velha port company. King Suites offer extra space or the One-Bedroom King Suite features a showcase freestanding bathtub and stylish living room. The Suite accommodation also has the option for a balcony and views of the cathedral. All accommodation sleeps up to two adults, while King Suites can be configured to sleep two adults and a child up to 13-years.
The restaurant is overseen by Chef Duarte Batista, whose sophisticated take on Mediterranean cuisine fused with Indian spices, is fast gaining an outstanding reputation. In keeping with the responsible travel ethos, all ingredients are locally sourced and sustainable. Highlights include seared red mullet, slow cooked pork belly and lobster pasta, all exquisitely presented.
The ground floor bar provides direct access to Rua das Flores and is a great spot to enjoy Portuguese-inspired drinks and snacks. In honour of the hotel’s history, every Wednesday and Saturday night, guests can enjoy the tradition of ‘fire opening’ a bottle of port, enjoying a glass of this local favourite with a chocolate truffle.
The onsite spa is an indulgent treat, with a Turkish Bath, sauna, indoor pool, treatment rooms and well-equipped Technogym fitness room. There is also a small outdoor pool with stunning views across the city.
