Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Autumn and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Autumn (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.

We design each itinerary around you, so this suggested itinerary is a starting point that we can tweak or transform into something completely bespoke to you. To start planning your holiday

Nepal is quite simply one of the best adventure playgrounds in the world, and your teenagers will absolutely love it. From trekking, zip-lining, rafting, local markets, paragliding and wildlife, there are experiences which all the family will enjoy.

  1. Days 1-4: Kathmandu

Begin by flying to Kathmandu – a city of hidden alleyways, bustling markets and its famous pagoda-style Durbar Squares. With your private guide we have included a walking adventure to see the vast Buddhist Stupa at Boudnath and the holy ghats of Pashupatinath where you can meet a Hindu holy man, or Sadhu. If you want to add something really special into the itinerary we can arrange a flight around Everest or to Everest Base Camp itself with the opportunity to meet someone who has successfully climbed the mountain themselves.

    Accommodation: Dwarika's (3 nights)

  2. Days 4-6: Central Nepal

Next up, you are driven to the remote village of Bandipur from where you'll be able to walk through largely untouched rural Nepal. This part of Nepal doesn’t see tourists so you can have an amazing insight into the communities whose way of life hasn’t changed in centuries.

Accommodation: Old Inn Bandipur (2 nights)

  3. Days 6-7: Annapurna Region

From Bandipur you will move onto the Annapura region, which we think has the best Himalayan vista you could possibly imagine. With your guide and driver you will drive from Bandipur to Pokhara, and on arrival meet your team of guides and sherpas to ensure you see Nepal off-the-beaten track. Your guides will be local Gurkahs providing an exceptional experience full of charm and character.

The first day of the trek will take you from the starting point up to the village of Birethanti, passing along the Modi River, where you will be spending your first night.

    Accommodation: Sanctuary Lodge (1 night)

  4. Days 7-8: Annapurna Region

After a hearty breakfast, leaving lush farmland of the valley behind, you will make your way to Ghandruk. This village is lovely and welcoming and offers a fantastic insight into rural life in the mountains. On the walk today you will have lots of see as you pass small hamlets, terraced rice fields and beautiful forests. Once you reach the lodge this afternoon you can either decide to relax and enjoy the surrounding views or for ones that want more adventure you can spend the afternoon with your guide exploring a few more of the surrounding villages.

    Accommodation: Himalaya Lodge (1 night)

  5. Days 8-9: Annapurna Region

The excitement of the trek continues today as you set off again through the spectacular countryside. Along the way you may have to give way to the donkey and mule trains as they carry goods to and from these small mountain villages. Your final night on the trek will be in the village of Majgaun which provides amazing photographic opportunities as you soak in the final views of the extraordinary mountains.

    Accommodation: Gurung Lodge (1 night)

  6. Days 9-11: Pokhara

Today you will make your descent from the mountains back to the end point of the trek, where you will meet your private car and me transferred to Pokhara, where you will have the following two nights. Pokhara is the capital of adventure sports in Nepal and the children (or Mum and Dad) might like a few of the more adrenaline filled experiences such as paragliding and zip lining!

Accommodation: Temple Tree Resort & Spa (2 nights)

  7. Days 11-12: Central Nepal

We wouldn’t want the adventure to end there. From Pokhara you will move to the the lush jungles to the south of Nepal in Chitwan National Park. The fastest way is the drive, but with a gushing river to carry you down on a raft, we think your children will quickly thank you for suggesting the more adventurous option! From Pokhara you will drive to the start of the rafting and from here you will make your way to Seti River Camp. The majority of the river is calm allowing you to float down, taking in the beautiful views around you, but there will be one or two rapids along the way to keep you on your toes! You will have an experienced guide with you who will effortlessly guide you through these faster paced sections.  In the afternoon you will arrive at a riverside camp, only accessibly by boat, and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Accommodation: Ker and Downey Seti River Camp (1 night)

  8. Days 12-14: Chitwan National Park, Nepal

From the Seti River Camp you are just a couple of hours paddle to your exit point from where you will drive into Chitwan National Park. Here you will have two nights to experience this incredible wildlife rich area with walking safaris, jeep drives and river trips to spot crocs. You will probably see the one-horned Rhino, and if you are really lucky, a tiger.

    Accommodation: Kasara Resort (2 nights)

  9. Days 14-15: Dhulikel

From Chitwan you will take a short internal flight back to Kathmandu and move up to Dhulikhel for your final night in Nepal. If your children still have the energy they can head out cycling in the local area, take a day-walk or dip back into Kathmandu to pick up some final shopping and souvenirs. Needless to say, we rather think this little adventure will produce so many amazing memories for all the family and the only question your children will ask is which adventure is next.

Accommodation: Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel (1 night)
