This adventurous holiday will take you around some of the most beautiful regions of Nepal. Trek through spectacular mountain scenery, get your adrenaline fix as you raft along jungle rivers, and enjoy a safari in Chitwan National Park where you may be lucky to catch a glimpse at elephants, rhinos and even the illusive Bengal tiger. Nepal is a treasure trove of cultural and historical sites, stunning mountainous vistas and charming people, this itinerary is a combination of the very best.

  1. Fly to Kathmandu

  2. Days 1-3: Kathmandu

Begin your trip in the vibrant capital of Kathmandu. There is no better place to immerse yourself in the cultural heritage of this ancient kingdom as you explore the grand Durbar Square of Patan with its many hidden alleyways and classic Newari architecture. Your first full day begins in one of the most dramatic fashions possible, with a morning flypast of Mt Everest where you can glimpse the world’s largest mountain in all its glory. You will then head back to the city to explore Kathmandu Durbar Square and the incredible Swayambhunath Stupa with impressive views across the city. You will be staying in the Inn Patan, one of our favourite heritage hotels, a beautifully restored townhouse just moments from the culture of Patan's old town.

Accommodation: The Inn Patan (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-6: Pokhara

The second part of your trip sees you fly to Pokhara, the beautiful lakeside city famed for its views of the Annapurna Himalayas. After exploring the city, you will enjoy two scenic day treks which allow you to take in local culture and some of the finest mountain views in the region. The hike to Sarankot for sunrise is something of a pilgrimage in Pokhara for the perfect photo opportunity of Phewa Lake and the Pokhara valley. Your third day sees you walk to the historic Australian Camp, a former base camp for the region’s high peaks. This walk through forests and small villages rewards you with fine views of the giant Annapurna peaks. On the walk down you will be able to visit the pretty village of Dhampus to take in some local culture.

Accommodation: Temple Tree Resort & Spa (3 nights)

  4. Days 6-9: Chitwan National Park

From Pokhara, you will make the 5 hour drive to Chitwan National Park. Here the resident naturalists will welcome you to the region and help plan your adventures in and around this beautifully rich wildlife haven. Chitwan is famous for its population of Asian one-horned rhino, high concentrations of sloth bears and endemic birdlife making their homes among the Narayani River and surrounding forests and grasslands. During your three nights, you will be able enjoy jeep safaris, boat trips and walks in the jungle as you look to uncover the secrets of the park and you may just see signs of the most impressive resident, the Bengal tiger. Your stay in Chitwan will be at the excellent Tiger Tops Tharu lodge.

Accommodation: Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge (3 nights)

  5. Days 9-10: Dhulikel

On your final day in Nepal, you will fly back to Kathmandu to enjoy your last night in the hills of the Kathmandu Valley looking down over the city. You will be staying at Dwarika’s Dhulikhel, a charming and refined hotel with a focus on wellness, so be sure to fit in a spa treatment. This is a idyllic place for peaceful and scenic walking, exploring the city further for some traditional Nepalese gifts down in the markets, or just relaxing with a sundowner and reminiscing on a fantastic trip.

Accommodation: Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel (1 night)
