The Yucatán Peninsula is hot and humid. The best time to visit is typically during the drier, slightly milder months between November and April. The ‘rainy’ season begins in the south around June and runs until November. Although it can be hotter and more humid at this time of year, usually it only rains for a couple of hours before the weather clears. The wettest months tend to be September and October. The Caribbean coast can be affected by the hurricane season, which officially is from June to November.

Hotel Hacienda Merida VIP is an intimate oasis, ensuring a relaxing stay in the centre of the lively city of Merida. With just four guestrooms centred around a refreshing swimming pool, it's a great option for families preferring to stay in the city.

Converted from an 1820s colonial home, Hotel Hacienda Merida VIP provides a beautiful haven within the lively centre of Merida, the capital of Mexico's Yucatan. Surrounding a peaceful courtyard garden with a large swimming pool, it provides plenty of space for cooling off in the heat of the sun, as well as being perfectly placed to explore the colonial streets outside.

As well as an ideal location for exploring this historical city, Hacienda Merida VIP can also be used as a base to visit the impressive Mayan ruins at Uxmal, as well as the many other ruins which dot the peninsula. The vast site of Uxmal is a sight to behold and its architecture gives a nod to the important religious design features which can be found across a number of the Yucatan's ruins, including nearby Chichen Itza. From Merida, you can also reach the impressive Celestun Biosphere Reserve, home to hundreds of pink flamingos.

The hotel itself boasts just four bedrooms, some with a private balcony overlooking the pool and some in the colonial part of the hotel further back. All rooms offer high thread count bedding, as well as satellite TV, fans, AC, iPod docks and king-size beds. Rollaway beds are available for families.
