At a Glance
Easy to get to, Naladhu is just a 40 minute speedboat transfer from Male and home to just 20 villas, each with a dedicated butler, ensuring the levels of service are extremely high.
The Living Room is the only restaurant on Naladhu, but guests can take advantage of the facilities on nearby Anantara Dhigu and Anantara Veli if they want a bit of variety, accessible by a board walk to one, and a dhoni boat to another. The guests at the other two islands cannot access Naladhu.
Naladhu has all their accommodation on the beach rather than over water; colonial inspired interiors with floral prints and engraved wooden columns. The Ocean Houses do not have direct access to the beach, but do have their own cabana on the beach so that guests can make a base.

The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian holiday week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is when resorts are cheapest.

With only 18 villas on the island, Naladhu offers a sense of seclusion and serenity. Each villa is thoughtfully equipped with everything guests might need during their stay, from binoculars to books, sunhats and magazines. The villas have a huge sense of character exuding colonial chic, making them feel very different to any other property in the Maldives.

Naladhu benefits from the exclusivity of a small island along with the facilities of a much larger resort. With the ability to pop over to it’s neighbouring sister Anantara, all the activities and variety of restaurants you could ask for from a big resort are on your doorstep while you can retreat to your home on Naladhu which is exclusively for Naladhu guests. The island itself plays home to a world class dining room and wine cellar and the ‘houses’ are some of my favourite residences in the Maldives, which a very homely feel and Sri Lankan inspired decoration.
