With an enviable beachside location, superb range of bars and restaurants, kid’s club and relaxing spa, Abi d’Oru is a superb option for both families and couples on Sardinia’s picturesque coastline.
Looking out over beautifully manicured gardens to the gleaming white sands and turquoise waters of the Gulf de Marinella, Abi d’Oru is a 150-room hotel with superb facilities and a location that lends itself to instant relaxation. Despite being the first hotel built in Porto Rotondo and on the Costa Smeralda, Abi d’Oru combines its traditional design with sleek, contemporary styling and a wealth of dining options and activities.
With four restaurants and three bars, you need never leave the hotel to enjoy a wealth of tastes, flavours and dining styles. Dine on Sardinian cuisine at Mediterraneo or Italian fine dining in Bellavista. Explore the tastes of the ocean with your feet in the sand as you feast on seafood and grilled fish at Marinella, or the flavours of the island at Tzia Maria. Move from the pool bar at sunset to enjoy cocktails on the beach or enjoy the convivial surrounds of the Aperitivo bar, looking out over the sea from a comfortable armchair.
Boasting four treatment rooms, a sauna, Turkish bath, emotional showers, ice waterfall and relaxation area with Himalayan salt walls, the Abi SPA is a welcoming and instantly relaxing spot should you be tempted from your beach lounger.
Though you would be forgiven for flopping onto a sun lounger and only moving for mealtimes or spa treatments, Abi d’Oru offers a range of activities to allow you to get the most from the beautiful landscapes on the hotel’s doorstep. A round of golf at the exclusive Pevero Golf Club, canoeing in the gulf, stand up paddle boarding, sailing at the nearby Yacht Club Porto Rotondo or hiking along the Capo Figari headland are just a handful of the options available to guests. History buffs can explore prehistoric dolmens and Romanesque churches, or have lunch in shepherds’ refuges.
Children are equally well catered for at Hotel Abi d’Oru, with the Bee Happy Kids Club for children from 4-12. Open from Monday to Saturday, from 10-1pm and 4-7pm, the club offers a supervised pool area, play park and a range of activities from painting to football, bocce to weaving. Babysitting for younger children is also available on request.
The 150-rooms range from Standard rooms to Signature Suites, and all offer WIFI, air-conditioning, mini-bars, beach towels and satellite TVs. Tiled or wooden floors, white walls and accent colours that mirror the hues of the beach and the sea create a fresh, airy feel, enhanced by the large windows and doors that flood the rooms with light.
With 30-40sq.m of space, the Junior Suites boast an indoor seating area as well as chairs and a table on the terrace, perfect for enjoying the views over the Gulf of Marinella. Recently renovated with a fresh, Mediterranean-inspired decor, the rooms feature local marble from Orosei and woven rugs from Samugheo, showcasing the beauty of the island, both inside and outside the rooms.
The large Family Classic guest rooms offer 52sq.m of space, split between a bedroom and ensuite bathroom as well as a living area with French sofa bed and a second bathroom with shower. Separated by a door, the rooms work well for families with small children. A small terrace provides space to enjoy the balmy evenings.
With superb sea views and large balconies or patios from which to enjoy them, the Deluxe Suites feature a spacious bedroom and separate living area with two sofa beds, accommodating two to four people.
Children will love Abi d’Oru for the friendly and welcoming Bee Happy Kids Club, as well as the special ‘no grown-ups’ dinner on Wednesdays and Fridays. With a play park, dedicated pool area and fun beach activities, the hotel is well-equipped to keep young guests entertained. Cots and babysitting are available on request and a number of the rooms are suitable for families.
With four restaurants and three bars, the hotel offers a feast of culinary variety, from the local cuisines of Mediterraneo to fresh seafood at the beachside Marinella. Bellavista offers a flavour of Italy in refined surroundings, while Tzia Maria dishes up Sardinina’s freshest flavours and you can move from pool to beach to sunset view without ever being without a well-earned cocktail or aperitiv. The Abi SPA boasts a range of amenities, with a Turkish bath, sauna, relaxation area with Himalayan rock salt wall as well as a range of treatments and packages that will revive body and mind.
Alongside the beautiful beach and its reserved area of powder soft sands complete with loungers and bar service, Abi d’Oru offers a host of activities to suit all interests.
