Daniel Smith (Staff)

I have now visited Wildflower Hall twice, and each time, I love it more and more. It is about 40 minutes from Shimla (some 4-5 hours drive from Chandigarh) and I feel its worth the extra travel. It feels so intimate and inviting, and I find the staff here some of the best from any Oberoi Hotel. It has a little bit of a Scottish retreat feel about it, with a touch of the colonial and a dash of indulgent luxury. The Spa, for instance, is superb. There are many walks which you can do, and you can also wander down into Shimla when you want. Make sure you spend at least three days here, but I could quite easily escape for a week. We do understand there will be some amazing new developments at Wildflower Hall launching in 2011..

  • Colonial Heritage Tour

This walk offers a glimpse of Shimla’s faded but glorious history and takes in lots of old colonial architecture.
