Vatnajökull is the largest ice cap in the world outside the Arctic, covering 13 per cent of Iceland’s landmass. At its edge, Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon stretches 248 metres deep, filled with giant icebergs that calve from the glacier and drift silently across the water. Then the real adventure begins: strap on crampons and follow an expert guide into an ice cave inside the glacier itself. The blue light, the scale, and the silence inside are extraordinary. Grab your camera because this is one of the most memorable experiences Iceland has to offer.
