Accessible only by boat, La Casa del Mundo is a secluded little hideaway on the rocky shores of Jaibalito on Lake Atitlan. This picturesque boutique hotel not only offers great accommodation, good food and good company, but unparalleled views of three staggering volcanoes, Atitlan, San Pedro and Toliman. Dominating the landscape, these towering volcanoes create a majestic scene and to admire this from such a quaint hotel makes for a quite a special occasion.

Perched on a cliff, guests will arrive in style at the hotel's small pier and wander up the steps to a warm welcome and admire their first glimpse of the spectacular view. There are small terraces dotted around the cliff edge, each with a number of sun loungers for relaxing as well as tables and chairs where guests can dine by candlelight in the evening and soak up the sunshine in the morning.

La Casa del Mundo boasts 17 cosy stone walled rooms with warming wooden furnishings and handcrafted Mayan decoration. Accommodating three room types, the rooms are ideal for entertaining both families and couples. Whilst preserving its authenticity, all the rooms are fitted with modern amenities for a comfortable stay including Wi-Fi. If the evening is chilly and you wish to eat inside, the dining is communal and makes for great story-telling with other guests of the day's adventures.

During your stay at La Casa del Mundo, you can delve into the local heritage and discover the lake's charms. Spend a day out on the lake visiting different mayan villages and learning their culture, climb one of the volcanoes with a guide or head out by yourself in a kayak. Spanish classes can also be arranged on site, and if you wish to go into town for a spot of shopping, you can arrange this in the morning directly with the hotel.
