Winter is the perfect time to visit Finnish Lapland. The winter temperatures can vary anywhere between 0°C and -40°C. The average temperature in January is -14°C, but the cold is not biting because the air is dry. There can be as much as one metre of snow and it usually lasts until May. There is potential for Northern Lights viewing throughout the winter months.

Wilderness Hotel Nangu is located in a remote spot on the southern shore of Lake Inari, with breath-taking views, perfect for experiencing the Northern Lights! As an adults-only destination this is the perfect escape for couples or friends.
Accommodation
All rooms at the Wilderness hotel Nangu are in the style of pretty log cabins featuring wooden interiors, large picture windows and private en suite bathroom. Most rooms feature double beds but there are also twin options available.
Nangu Superior room with Panorama window | The Superior Rooms are located in a separate building in the hotel yard. Each room has its own private entrance and a panorama window facing Lake Inari, offering a great view and a possibility to catch the northern lights from the comfort of your own room. All rooms have double beds, private bathroom with supplies, wardrobe and hairdryer.

Nangu Wilderness rooms | The Wilderness rooms are located in two separate log buildings in the hotel yard. There are 17 rooms with double beds and 2 single rooms. Each room has its own bathroom with supplies, wardrobe, and hairdryer. All rooms are decorated in rustic wilderness style, the traditional log walls adding the final touch to the Lappish atmosphere. |
Nangu Superior sauna room with Panorama window | The Superior Sauna Rooms feature queen-sized beds, a bathroom, and your own private sauna. The room also has a panorama window facing Lake Inari, offering a great view and a possibility to catch the northern lights from the comfort of your own room. |
Panorama Log Cabin | The Panorama Log Cabins have views over Lake Inari. Each semi-detached cabin has two suites, each accomodating two people. Every suite has a private sauna and two of them even have their own jacuzzi hot tubs. |

This small boutique hotel features a cosy restaurant which serves up delicious Lappish cuisine. Breakfast and Lunch are served buffet style and dinner is a-la-carte served to your table.
Activities
The wilderness of Finnish Lapland is the perfect spot to try out some exciting activities. At Nangu we can organise for you to have a full-day excursion where you’ll ride a husky sled to visit a reindeer farm, or you can head out by snowmobile to try your hand at ice fishing. There are also plenty of options for maximising your opportunity to spot the Northern Lights including Aurora snowshoeing and snowmobiling.
