Average time to visit

The main season in Chile's lake District runs from November to April - the Chilean spring/summer, when all activities are possible. It's also worth visiting in autumn, when it's still very beautiful for simply relaxing and hiking. The area is prone to rain all year but is wettest in July and driest between January and March.

Experience the stunning scenery of Chile's Lake District at Casa Molino, a small owner-run property which sits overlooking Lake Llanquihue and the Osorno Volcano on the opposite shore. A stay here is all about relaxing and enjoying the surrounding nature.

Cosy and charming, the small and owner-run Casa Molino sits just a short distance back from the shores of Lake Llanquihue in Chile's Lake District, overlooking its waters and the dramatic peak of the Osorno Volcano which sits on the opposite shore. Casa Molino is approximately 6km from the town of Puerto Varas, giving it a feeling of being remote, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and nature in every direction.

There are just 11 guestrooms and suites at Casa Molino and each boasts unique decor, giving it a cosy home from home feeling. Rooms are certainly not anything fancy but this adds to the charm of the property, and each has comfortable bedding and all the amenities you need throughout your stay. Large windows allow in plenty of light and enhance the views. Some rooms are complete with twin beds whilst others boast queen or king beds. Rooms overlook either the gardens or the lake and its volcanoes and we definitely recommend paying that bit extra to enjoy the lake views!

From the property's gardens there is direct access to a beach down by the lake and plenty of acres of grass to explore on foot whilst soaking in that impressive backdrop. There is a restaurant on site and guests also have access to a small kitchen.
