Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
Insider's View
To start planning your holiday to Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor
Description
A boutique hotel with strong Khmer influences, Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor (formerly by Orient-Express) is a luxury property just a short distance from the Angkor Wat temple complex, one of South East Asia's most breathtaking attractions.
Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Cambodia's Siem Reap. The architectural style of this stunning luxury retreat pays homage to Khmer architecture and the property is built in natural woods with a soothing decor throughout.
All of La Résidence d'Angkor's guest rooms are tastefully furnished in local materials and the Deluxe Rooms are located with lovely views onto the gardens and poolside. The eight new suites are more contemporary in style, with stylish and spacious interiors and wonderful private terraces, perfect for peaceful relaxation and al fresco dining.
There is a lovely pool in the peaceful, lush gardens that is an ideal place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. The hotel also boasts a fabulous spa, truly Cambodian in style with a wonderful array of holistic treatments designed to cleanse, purify and relax the body and mind. There is a great restaurant with local and international specialities on offer in a beautiful setting.
La Résidence d'Angkor has a prime position - just 15 minutes drive to the temples of Angkor Wat and the town's markets, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Rent a bicycle and see the local villages and countryside at your own pace with a delicious gourmet picnic or take a private cruise on Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia with its fascinating floating villages.

There are 50 Junior Suites, 8 Deluxe Studio Suites and 1 Deluxe One-Bedroom Poolside Suite at Belmond La Residénce D'Angkor, all exquisitely decorated in Khmer style using hardwoods, bamboo and natural silks and cottons. The suites are designed to be light and airy and have stunning floor to ceiling windows, large bathrooms and private balconies.

The hotel's vast saltwater swimming pool has 45,000 handmade individually glazed tiles in different shades of green, paying homage to the nearby Barray Lakes and is simply stunning. The tranquil Kong Kea Spa has six indulgent treatment rooms with steam rooms and Jacuzzis as well as beauty treatment rooms for facials, manicures and pedicures. Reviews
Cordelia Nicholls (Staff)
Newly refurbished, spacious rooms, really Cambodian feel to the hotel and 5 min walk to downtown. Amazing pool and great restaurant options, the tuk tuk soup station is always fun and the entertainment is fun over dinner too.

Belmond La Rsidence dAngkor has a lovely local feeling and very welcoming relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and I instantly felt at home. Even though it is a city hotel and really centrally located it is full of lush vegetation which with the fantastic central pool really completes the feeling of being in an oasis.
Evi-Elli La Valle (Staff)
The location of Belmond La Rsidence D'Angkor is amazing. The hotel is situated just over the river from the main part of town and a short walk (less than 10mins) takes you to the central hub with its markets, restaurants, bars and nightlife. Yet when you are in the hotel sitting by the lovely pool and surrounded by lush tropical gardens, you would never guess and although it is a city hotel, there is a real holiday feel. The only thing to watch out for is the noise as if you are on the river side, it can get quite loud. However if you take a garden facing room, there is nothing to worry about.
