The waterhole in front of camp draws wildlife from across the area, many guests in the Hwange camps choose to spend an afternoon sitting on the deck watching the wildlife coming to drink - you'll see great herds of elephant, buffalo and often lion and hyena come to drink at dusk.

Our first impression of Linkwasha came in the form of our guide, Richard, who was endearing, knowledgeable and immediately put us at ease. The camp itself has a modern feel, with huge, glass fronted tents and plenty of space, both inside and out, for relaxing with a book or soaking up the plentiful wildlife that visits the waterhole right in front.

Linkwasha Camp has really managed to tick every single box there is in terms of luxury for a safari camp. The rooms are spacious and airy with a contemporary design and they all look out over the waterhole. The beds are absolutely enormous and on the chilly evenings you can snuggle up amongst the enormous pillows. The camp is all about providing the very best which it certainly achieves in terms of luxury, service and guiding. The Zimbabwean guides are the best in the business and their knowledge extends far beyond the wildlife and their local area.

There are so many positives to mention about Linkwasha that it is hard to know where to start. In many ways the camp is symbolic of the return of Zimbabwe's tourism industry. Five years ago you'd have been laughed out of the room for talking about opening a 'new' luxury tented camp in the country. Now, with the relative stability of the USD being used in the country, and the resurgent international tourist interest it makes sense. Hwange is a spectacular big-game safari area. Beautiful bush and a huge volume and variety of wildlife make it without doubt one of Southern Africa's premier safari areas. Linkwasha Camp is the most luxurious accommodation option in the area, and in one of the most prolific locations for wildlife.
