Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The ski season in the United States is longer than that in Europe. Most resorts open sometime in November, with Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in that month) being a common opening time, and stay open until mid to late April. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming have the highest peaks and due to the semi-arid climate, have abundant snowfall with some great powder. The exceptionally high altitude means December through to February can be extremely cold, with temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -12C, although the skiing conditions remain very good. Warmer temperatures in the Spring mean more variable skiing conditions and softer, forgiving snow.

Insider's View

I would recommend having some chilled family après at the Spur bar in Teton Mountain Lodge - watch the game and have a drink with a snack after skiing. There is nothing better!

We can do a grocery shop for you before you arrive if you would like so please just ask.

The Solitude spa is a great place to relax after skiing, you can make use of the rooftop pools and hot-tubs which will relieve your aching muscles after a hard day on the Tetons.

You must try the bacon Bloody Marys - Jackson Hole is renowned for its Bloody Marys and this is Teton Mountain Lodge's take on this classic cocktail!

Rooftop hottub with a phone that calls one place… the bar.

If you don’t spot any wildlife in Grand Teton, you can always visit The Mangy Moose (restaurant, tavern and local haunt) just over the road!

Teton Mountain Lodge is an authentic, fully-fledged luxury resort with great mountain style. We loved the great farm to table restaurant with mountain views, offering what they call elevated mountain cuisine.  For those looking for a spa experience, it offers the newest spa in Jackson, with multiple pools and a rooftop jacuzzi. It is also in the centre of the buzzy village, which makes frequenting the famed Mangy Moose restaurant and tavern all too easy. Located at the entrance to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, a 20 minute drive away from the charming town centre of Jackson and at the foot of Jackson Hole ski area (if you are visiting in winter), it ticks all of the boxes.

From walking into this traditional lodge you are instantly hit by the warmth nature of it. There are so many people everywhere, whether it is chilling in the Spur bar, or getting ready to head up the mountain. It is a very bustly atmosphere which welcomes children, groups of adults, couples and probably everyone! This is an amazing place to stay if you are looking for some good aprs as well as the independence and flexibility to cook for yourselves or eat somewhere different every evening
