Spice Bazaar & Suleymaniye Mosque
From the frescoes of the Church of St. Savior and the Suleymaniye Mosque to the bustling Spice Bazaar, this tour of Istanbul combines iconic landmarks with a taste of local life to offer a unique experience of this vibrant city.
Admire some of the finest Byzantine mosaics and frescoes at the Church of St. Savior in Chora, before visiting Suleymaniye Mosque, Istanbul's most important mosque and one of the great masterpieces of the Ottoman architect Sinan.
Continue on to the Spice Bazaar (or Egyptian Bazaar), one of the oldest bazaars in the city and the second largest covered shopping complex after the Grand Bazaar. The bazaar was (and still is) the centre for spice trade in Istanbul. The building itself is part of the külliye of Yeni Mosque, and rents from the shops within was intended to help pay for the upkeep of the mosque.
