Average time to visit
The best time to visit Windhoek is between May and September, when it's cool and dry. Summer (November to March) is hot with heavy rains that sometimes make the gravel roads to the Namib completely impassable.
December and January see the main school holidays: much of the populace heads to the coast, so if you visit during this time you may find some shops and restaurants closed.

The chic and comfortable Olive Exclusive made for the perfect respite after my long travel to Namibia and before I began exploring the country. This intimate hotel offers exquisite service and quiet accommodation in beautifully appointed rooms, ideal for a relaxing afternoon and evening. The Olive Restaurant is one of the top restaurants in Windhoek and I really enjoyed the various choices of local influence. With an easily accessible location to both the international and domestic airport this is my top choice for a quick stay in Windhoek.

The Olive Exclusive is unquestionably Windhoek's most luxurious hotel with stylish and very spacious modern bedrooms with large windows that take advantage of the sun resulting in bright airy rooms.
The in house restaurant is one of the best in town and is ideal for those arriving of an international flight. The service was also extemporary and the reception team are always willing to make suggestions and reservations for dinner in town for those there on a longer stay.

The Olive Exclusive is a wonderful and stylish small boutique hotel. It was a fabulous and tranquil place to spend my first night in Namibia after an overnight flight. I loved the way each suite has it's own theme and colour scheme each based on a different region in Namibia. The staff were very helpful and you can either dine here or they can make some great recommendations of places to dine in Windhoek.
