Average time to visit
The best time to visit Swakopmund is between April and November, when it's cool and dry. Summer (November to March) is hot with heavy rains that sometimes make the roads to the coast tricky to negotiate. December and January see the main school holidays: much of the populace heads to the coast, so if you visit during this time you may find some shops and restaurants closed. Be aware that weekends are busy, too, as Swakopmund is a popular weekend destination for Windhoek residents, so restaurants are likely to be busier.

Swakopmund Guesthouse is an owner-run B&B in the heart of Namibia's coastal playground of Swakopmund. Only 5 minutes walk to the beach and in the heart of town, Swakopmund Guesthouse is in a great location to make the most of a stay on the Atlantic coast.
Situated in the town centre, a mere five-minute walk from the beach and main shopping area, Swakopmund Guesthouse is owned and run by the Borg family.
The family used to use the property as a holiday home, and revamped it several years ago to offer fifteen luxurious rooms in this charming seaside town. Attention to detail is something the family pride themselves on, with an aim to go beyond the remit of a typical guesthouse to ensure every need is met.
The rooms are split into seven standard rooms, seven luxury rooms and one family suite. Each is modern and designed individually, with large wallpaper feature walls depicting an ocean scene in each room. Each has a mini-bar, free WiFi, television, crisp white linens, fluffy towels and modern ensuite bathrooms.
Sumptuous breakfasts are served each morning, and the staff are ready to help book restaurants for your evening meals, or assist with booking local excursions.
Children of all ages are welcome, but children under the age of 12 must share a room with an adult. However, there are no specific child care facilities here.
Swakopmund Guesthouse has a beautiful dining room where delicious buffet breakfasts are served each morning. Furniture made from driftwood and modern white lampshades add to the unique decor of this stylish restaurant area.
