Average time to visit
The best time to visit Etosha is from April to September as the temperature is tolerably cool, especially at night. From May to September the increasingly thirsty animals gather at waterholes, making it the best time to go to Etosha for game viewing. Summer is best time to travel to Etosha for bird watching as migratory birds (both intra-African and Palaearctic) flock into the park's many habitats after the summer rains.

Mushara Outpost is a gorgeous retreat that makes for the perfect place to relax after exploring Etosha National Park. My stay here was refreshing as their tented rooms offer a lot of space to relax and enjoy the air conditioning after a long days excursion through Etosha. The staff were friendly and the food was scrumptious, with a charming atmosphere to top it off.

Only ten Kilometres from the Etosha National Park the Mushara Outpost is a stylish modern lodge designed with big luxury tented suites. The lawns and a pool make it the perfect place to relax in the middle of the day between game drives in the nearby park.
The main area where the delicious meals are served is a spacious traditional homestead building with a slight moderns twist. The staff were always prepared to go the extra mile and make your stay that bit more special.

Mushara The Outpost is a stylish lodge on the easterly edge of Etosha National Park. The lodge has just ten rooms so has a cosy friendly feel. I loved the main area which is designed as a traditional farm homestead but they have given it a modern twist with everything decorated in white, reflecting the white of Etosha Pan.
The tented rooms were all large and comfortable with views into the bush and it was a treat to have a shower under the bright night sky in the outdoor shower.
The lodge is about a 10 km drive from the Von Lindquist Etosha Gate so it is easy to access if you are on a self-drive safari.
