Weather-wise, the best times to go are spring and autumn, when temperatures are 20°C to 25°C by day and at least 10°C by night, and November to February, with cooler nights but similar daytime temperatures and light rainfall possible. The weather in March and April features sporadic, light rainfall with some sandstorms in April, while June can see dusty siroccos (desert winds). From mid-June to August temperatures rise into the 30s and occasionally 40s.

With only 12 rooms this intimate riad maintains its Andalusian-Moroccan charm, with arched doorways, stained glass, or colourful Fez Zelig tile work within the rooms and common areas.
The riad is a combination of two traditional houses that have been lovingly restored; all of the rooms are slightly different yet remain true to the architecture and décor of the original homes while blending seamlessly with modern amenities. The rooms are delightful offering superior comfort and touches such as hand carved cedar wood details, tadelakt walls, and stunning brightly coloured bathroom tiling. After a day of exploring the delightful blue streets of Chefchaouen, Riad Cherifa will be a welcome oasis with comfortable seating areas throughout the property. Lounges and small gardens are scattered throughout the property and are perfect for reading a book or chatting.
The rooftop terrace, complete with lush greenery and flowers, is ideal for relaxing with a mint tea and looking over the city. A traditional Moroccan breakfast is included, and can be taken on the lovely pool-side terrace, surrounded by potted flowering plants. The pool itself is tranquil as it is walled on three-sides for a true oasis feel. An on-site hammam is large and strikingly tiled with blues and golds reminiscent of the city outside.
There is a total of 12 rooms, 4 Superior, 6 Standard, and 2 Economic. All rooms maintain their Andalusian-Moroccan charm while combining seemlessly with modern comforts. Rainfall showers, and jewel-coloured tilework make the bathrooms a delight to enter, and exquisite examples of local handicrafts decorate the rooms with embroidered bedspreads, antique furniture, and handpainted motifs.
The outdoor pool is surrounded on 3 sides by high walls providing a real oasis-like atmosphere and a genuine escape from the town streets and souks. For even greater relaxation, there is a traditional tiled hammam with an adjacent therapy room ready to massage away any stress. Both the pool terrace and rooftop terrace are surrounded by beautiful potted flowers and greenery, with different areas to sit and relax or enjoy a private moment. There is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner, however, arrangements can be made to dine at a neighboring riad or in the town.
