Hotel Sahrai is a new high-end boutique property opened by the owners of the famous Riad Fes. Unlike its sister property, it's located outside the medina. It therefore has space for a lovely outdoor terrace and pool with views over this fascinating city.
Located on the edge of Fes, overlooking the bustling medina, the new Hotel Sahrai is a fashionable and comfortable hotel located in an enviable spot outside the busy streets of the old city. The Sahrai's name is derived from the Arabic word for magic. Although the style is contemporary, Paris-based designer Christophe Pillet has modelled the building with Moroccan tradition in mind: Arabesque patterns and arched pavilions lead through atmospheric public spaces.
The pool and bar offer spectacular views of the historic cityscape and the Atlas Mountains beyond, making the terrace a popular spot for well to do locals and tourists alike to enjoy the panorama as they enjoy a coffee of mint tea in the afternoon or an evening cocktail or glass of wine.
The 50 rooms of the Sahrai feature floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city, and modern and well appointed open-plan bathrooms with rain showers and oversized baths. Connecting options are available.
The hotel boasts two restaurants - one with gourmet Moroccan cuisine and the other offering a Parisian brasserie menu. The panoramic terrace with bar a popular and lively and gets quite busy particularly Wednesday - Sunday when there are often concerts or live DJ sets.
Scott Dunn can offer a range of fun experiences and activities in or near Fes, included tours of the medina and souks and days out to Meknes or Voloubilis.
