Built in a style inspired by the Mughal period, the Oberoi Amarvilas boasts ornate gardens replete fountains and pools, its 64 well-appointed rooms all face the Taj Mahal, a mere 600m away. The interiors are refined and stylish, reminiscent of princely India. Rooms feature teak flooring, teak furniture and spacious marble bathrooms with both a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle. For the ultimate in luxury, book yourself into the Kohinoor Suite which offers the best views of the Taj Mahal. The suite also has an interconnecting twin-bedded room which makes it ideal for families.
There are two restaurants, one specializing in authentic Indian dishes, as well as a terrace bar with equally captivating views of the Taj. The spa is dedicated to well-being with a full range of Ayurvedic, Thai and Western treatments. Yoga sessions and meditation are also on offer.

Bellevue, the main restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and a menu of Indian and international cuisine. Esphahan focuses solely on Indian cuisine and is only open for dinner.
The hotel's bar, which has a terrace with breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal, offers a fine selection of wines, spirits and cigars.
The hotel provides complimentary use of the swimming pool but spa treatments are charged at an additional cost. The hotel also offers complimentary transfers to the infamous Taj Mahal, located only minutes away. Other attractions in the local area include the Itmad-Ud-Daulah built by Empress Noorjahan and often referred as the "Baby Taj", the fortified city of Fatehpur Sikri, the Agra Fort, Akbar's Mausoleum at Sikandra, and the Kinari Bazaar.

Location & Directions
The Oberoi Amarvilas is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, one of the largest states in India. The resort is located at a distance of 600 meters from the Taj Mahal and approximately 15-minutes from the city center.
When to go
Rajasthan is known as the desert state. It is largely hot and dry throughout the year, making it a great destination to get away from European winters.
Summer in Rajasthan extends from April to June. It is s the hottest season, with temperatures ranging from 32 degree C to 45 degree C, so not ideal for travel, although early April is a good time to get cheaper rates if you dont mind the temperature in the high 30s. In western Rajasthan the temperature may reach at high as 45 degree C, particularly in May and June so we'd suggest avoiding Jaisalmer and the Thar Desert at this time.
The second season - technically the "Monsoon" (although in reality Rajasthan never receives much rainfall) extends from July to September. The temperature drops slightly, and humidity increases. 90% of the rain Rajasthan can expect occurs during this period. Lakes and rivers will be higher from mountain run-off and flowers and grasses come to life, bringing added color to the landscape.
The Post-monsoon period is from October to November. The average maximum temperature is 33 degree C to 38 degree C, and the minimum is between 18 degree C and 20 degree C. The official "season" for hotels in Rajasthan starts in October. It’s a great time to travel - warm and sunny during and perfect for exploring and relaxing.
The fourth season is "winter", and runs from December to March. With day time temperatures still in the high 20's during the day this a very popular time to travel. Hotels are at the their busiest over the Christmas and new year period. Be aware though that December and January can have very cool mornings and evening and we suggest taking some warm clothing. Whilst temperatures in the desert areas are always hot in the daytime, they become some of the coolest areas of the state once the sun goes down. It’s also fairly standard to expect some fog in the major cities of Northern Rajstasthan and Delhi in December and January.
