Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is open year-round. High season runs from April through to October; if you come during this period, try to enter the park before 10am or after 2pm to avoid lines and parking challenges. In mid-July, the monsoons usually begin. After the monsoons taper off in mid-September, autumn is a great time to be in the park. The crowds fall off before the red, orange, and yellow leaves on the rim-top trees follow suit. If you don't mind the cold, you'll love the canyon in winter - by far the quietest, most peaceful time to visit.
