Las Vegas has a desert climate with cool winters and extremely hot summers. The most pleasant seasons are spring and fall, especially if you want to experience the great outdoors.
Weekdays are slightly less crowded than weekends. Holidays are always a mob scene and come accompanied by high hotel prices. Hotel prices also skyrocket when big conventions and special events are taking place. The slowest times of year are June, July, and August; the week before Christmas; and the week after New Year's.

Las Vegas’ ultimate casino resort, Encore at Wynn makes no concessions. If you want to impress, play the tables or just allow yourself to be swallowed up in total luxury, then Encore at Wynn is the hottest joint in town.
Following legendary hotelier Steve Wynn’s creation of Las Vegas’ eponymous temple to sybaritic luxury, the 2.3-billion-dollar Encore at Wynn redefines the luxury concept for the twenty-first century. Located just north of Wynn Las Vegas and sharing its curved bronze exterior look, the smaller Encore at Wynn is even more luxurious, if that were possible, and has an eclectic design scheme that combines Greek and Moroccan touches, sunlit corridors with flower-filled atriums and sprawling pools, vibrant butterfly designs, signature mosaics and a great deal of red.
While they have a similar design aesthetic, rooms at Encore (a mere 2,034 suites) are even grander and huger than those at the Wynn, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer dazzling views over downtown Las Vegas. The bedroom, with its engulfing Wynn Dream bed, is separated from a living room space by a partial wall and huge flat screen TV, and furnishings are contemporary with an opulent panache, and state-of-the-art, allowing you to operate everything from a single remote control that remembers your preferences. Bathrooms are marble palaces, filled with plush toweling and robes, and top-quality bath amenities.
The Encore Tower Suites come highly recommended, differing from the Encore Resort Room category, guests enjoy a private entrance and check-in lounge, complimentary daily breakfast for two and access to an exclusive swimming pool. The Encore Tower Suites provides a boutique hotel service, with all the advantages of a sprawling luxury resort.
The hotel is a virtual roll call of high-end facilities, with a 70,000-square-foot salon and spa, two pools, seven bars, the ultra chic XS nightclub which combines an after-dark pool party with a pulsating club atmosphere, and the uber-hip day-life Encore Beach Club. There are 11 designer boutiques, and five gourmet restaurants, ranging from the smartly contemporary Italian cuisine of Sinatra to the Asian delights of Wazuzu and the Switch Steakhouse with its grilled steaks and seafood. The pool area at the heart of the hotel is in the style of a European garden and is surrounded by Greek statues.
The sophisticated casino itself, which is separated by plantation screens, columns and drapes, to create salons where craps, blackjack and roulette are on offer, is almost an intimate space, and offers the chance to offset the costs of staying here, or more likely adding to them! As far as luxury is concerned, however, Las Vegas really doesn't get much better.
Encore at Wynn has 2,034 suites all equipped with the Wynn Dream bed, opulent furnishings, huge flat screen TVs, state-of-the-art technologies, and marble bathrooms filled with plush towelling and robes, and top-quality bath amenities.
Children are welcome to come and stay at Encore at Wynn but there are no specific child care facilities. Cribs and rollaway beds are available upon request.
At Encore at Wynn you can enjoy your stay without worrying about the little details. The Concierge Staff will assist you with any request that you may have from car rental, limousine service, dining reservations and show tickets and more.
Self parking and complimentary valet parking service is available on arrival, gift baskets can be arranged for that special occasion, rooms are serviced twice daily and same-day laundry, dry cleaning and minor mending services are provided. There is also high-speed internet access and wireless connection in all guest rooms.
Since its opening, the Wynn Encore has been hailed as the destination in Las Vegas, pampering guests in an intimate atmosphere. Guests of Encore can enjoy five signature restaurants, designer boutiques, a full service salon and spa, exciting pool areas, an 18-hole golf course and the chic nightclub XS and Surrender and the daylife hotspot Encore Beach Club.
Las Vegas is a vibrant, electric city known worldwide for its bright lights and casinos. There are thrill rides, sumptuous pool complexes with wave machines, multiple golf courses and incredible shopping, from designer boutiques to outlet stores. World-class entertainers such as Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group perform in the city, and if you can pull yourself away from all the fanciful fun, a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon is a highlight of a trip to Vegas.
You can also be out in the desert within 30 minutes for a whole world of outdoor adventures, and driving out to Death Valley (on the Hwy 160, approx 2.5 hours) to explore the barren and harsh landscapes from the comfort of an air-conditioned car. Driving by sand dunes, craters and giant desert boulders and spotting desert wildlife make for a memorable day-trip. In the height of the summer, air-con is a must with temperatures reaching 49 degrees and its best to set off early. Entry to the park is $20 per car for a 7-day pass.

I found the Wynn to be a vast resort consisting of contemporary accommodation as well as being home to a plethora of restaurants, bars and shops. The buffet is not to be missed, upgrades to the Encore Suites ensure swift entry breezing past the lengthy ques for this world-renowned dining extravaganza. The year-round floral displays and a bustling casino make this a lively resort with lots to see and do. I enjoyed the locations of The Wynn especailly being situated opposite the enormous Fashions Show shopping mall!

Resplendent in the North of the famous Las Vegas "Strip" and around 20 minutes walk from the fountains of Bellagio to give perspective, the Wynn and Encore at Wynn are sister properties each with their own dynamic style and feel.
I originally walked in to the Wynn expecting it to be a little less sophisticated than the Encore, that's what I'd been led to believe, however, I soon discovered that the hotels are very much on a par with regards to standard and service, it's more about the vibe that you are looking for which differentiates the two. Both have options of how you can reach your room. As so many of the Vegas hotels, the main reception area is right next to the casino and it's a rather too long walk across the casino floor to get to the elevators and up to the sanctuary of your room. However, the Tower Suites at each hotel eliminate this ghastly introduction with their own separate entrance and elevators right next to the reception. This is definitely worth the slightly additional cost in each case. Each of the two hotels has been beautifully and lavishly thought out with bright vibrant colours, thoughtful touches and a sophisticated feel. The Wynn is definitely the more family friendly option, with more restaurant options and family orientated pool areas whereas the Encore has a slightly more edgy feel, modern dark colours with touches of clack and red in the guest rooms as well as a superb nightclub scene and at weekends, a very trendy beach club which has seen more than an occasional famous person or DJ attending.
Both hotels offer superb accommodations and I was struck by how light and bright the guest rooms with, natural light flooding through. They don't all offer Strip views, many look off toward the mountains beyond with the city outskirts laid out in front, however, all are spacious and contemporary.
Guests of the Tower Suites enjoy other benefits beyond check in. A complimentary breakfast each morning, always a hit with UK guests, as well as a separate more exclusive part of the hotel with lighter and airy hallways and just a more exclusive feel.
Either hotel will offer a great stay, it just depends on which side of the hotel you would prefer. If you're here to party in style, head to the Encore, if you're a little less in need of a very late night, the Wynn will be your place. Young at heart though is the order of the day here for a contemporary twist on the Las Vegas hotel.
