The rainy season on the Kenyan Coast is generally May/June. So from July onward the weather is gradually getting hotter and dryer until March/April when it reaches the high 90's (over40 degrees C). Christmas/New Year is generally considered the peak season and the weather is lovely then with constant sunshine and gentle off shore breezes. If you want clear seas for diving then make your trip after August/Sept.

Medina Palms is a beautiful hotel located on a long stretch of beach in Watamu. Although not all of the rooms have sea views it does not matter, the exterior of the hotel has a lovely Moroccan feel with a long elegant pool stretching the whole way from the top of the hotel to the rooms closer to the sea, with many different pools along the way. The rooms are bright and airy with fantastic amounts of space and if you fancy a relaxing night in then there is a great DVD collection and DSTV available. Located at the front there is a beach bar comprised of lovely hidden spots to sit and drink cocktails and have a snack whilst the sun sets or chat to the water sports instructors about the fun things you would like to do the next day.
