Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
For a small country, Jordan has an extraordinary range of climates. The best time to visit climate-wise is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the daytime temperatures aren't too extreme. April is probably the best month, when temperatures are warm and wildflowers are in bloom. March can be cold and rainy in the north but is balmy by the Gulf of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.

Itinerary
Jordan is a small country with plenty to offer. This itinerary enables you to experience the very best of the country in less than two weeks. This trip combines culture, trekking, relaxation and adventure, from Roman ruins, to sand dunes to coral reefs.
-
Days 1-3: Amman
You will begin your trip with two nights in Amman, which gives you a chance to get to grips with this fascinating city. Embark on a walking tour of Amman with a private guide for the day in order to enjoy historical overview of the country and region, stretching back to the Roman age, through the Islamic and Umayyad period up until the present day.
Accommodation: The Four Seasons Hotel Amman (2 nights)
-
Days 3-5: Dana Nature Reserve
From Amman you will continue by road to the Dana Nature Reserve, where you will trek to your next hotel. Start at the top of valley and wind your way down through the spectacular scenery, accompanied by your local Bedouin guide, before arriving at the wonderful Feynan Ecolodge.
Whilst it is possible just to spend one night at Feynan, two nights will give you more opportunity to explore the surrounding area and enjoy some of the lodge's other activities including mountain biking or spending time with the local community. Whilst the lodge is simple, it is very charming, and this is a lovely way to get more off the beaten track.
Accommodation: Feynan Ecolodge (2 nights)
-
Days 5-7: Petra
Your next destination is the legendary Petra, just over an hour’s drive away. Entering through the Siq, your first glimpse of the Treasury is hugely memorable. You will be accompanied by a private local guide for two hours and will then have the rest of the day to explore the site. Don't miss the Monastery which has the most spectacular views, although you will need to climb nearly 1,000 steps to reach it.
Accommodation: Movenpick Resort Petra (2 nights)
-
Days 7-8: Wadi Rum
A night in Wadi Rum should be included in every Jordan itinerary. Stay in a tent under the clear desert skies and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the desert and the stars. Journey through the desert on a 4x4 jeep ride with a local Bedouin, stopping off to admire the natural wonders and hidden historical sites. To have the complete Arabian experience, you may also wish to include a camel ride.
Accommodation: Bespoke Hideaways Discovery Bedu Camp (1 night)
-
Days 8-10: Aqaba
The Red Sea is one of the best places in the world for diving and snorkelling, just an hour’s drive from Wadi Rum. We have included a half day snorkelling trip, but of course diving is also available. If you would prefer to just relax, the inviting pools and private beaches in the area are the perfect spots to do this.
Accommodation: Kempinski Aqaba (2 nights)
-
Days 10-13: Dead Sea - Jordan Side
It takes three hours to drive from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea where you will finish your trip. Floating on the salty water of the Dead Sea is an extraordinary experience, and there are some fabulous spa treatments on offer here. Should you wish, it is also possible to continue your cultural exploration, with visits to the historical town of Madaba and the holy sites of Mt Nebo and Bethany Beyond the Jordan.
Accommodation: Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea (3 nights)
