Explore the atmospheric riverside town of Takayama with its winding streets, 16th century Edo period architecture, traditional wooden houses, craft shops and galleries, accompanied by your knowledgeable English-speaking guide. During the walk, you’ll be introduced to popular local food and drink, such as Hida beef, sticky rice cakes on skewers and locally produced sake. After a satisfying lunch, you’ll take a short 15-minute taxi ride to the small town of Hida Furukawa, north of Takayama. From here you set off on a guided cycle tour of Hida’s stunning countryside, taking a relaxing ride past farming villages and paddy fields, while your guide gives you an insight into local daily life. This is a lovely way to experience the scenery and learn more about Japanese history and culture. At the end of the ride, you will be transferred back to Takayama.
The tour lasts 6 hours, with a minimum age of 6 years and a minimum height of 125cm.
