Gastronomical tour of Naxos
Begin with a visit to a local farm, where you’ll learn about the seasonal produce grown here and you may even have the chance to pick some vegetables yourself. Continue on to meet a local cook and, under her expert guidance, prepare an authentic dish from the region in a private cooking class. While the food is cooking, your guide will take you to the folklore Museum of Kaloxylos, then a distillery in the village of Halki to sample Naxos Kitron, a citrus liqueur, followed by the village of Damalas to visit an ancient aqueduct, a pottery workshop and an olive oil factory. Learn the ancient techniques used to produce the olive oil before returning to the kitchen to taste your creation for lunch.
