Description
The Charles Hotel is a prestigious and luxurious top end hotel located in the centre of the fascinating city of Munich. Close to Munich's peaceful and charming Old Botanical Garden, it offers the city’s most spacious rooms and longest indoor pool.
The Charles Hotel first opened its doors in 2007 as part of the development of the Lenbach Garden, and is part of the Rocco Forte collection. In fact, the hotel is named after Charles Forte, the father of Sir Rocco Forte and Olga Polizzi. Modern and spacious, the hotel was built on the site of the former University Library of Munich, close to historic Königsplatz and the heart of the city.
The Charles is a stylish, classy choice, with rooms tastefully and careful decorated in muted tones of taupe, moss green and cream. Some rooms offer pretty views of the nearby botanical gardens and many have balconies. Bathrooms are good-sized and limestone-clad.
The hotel is home to the well-known Sophia' s Restaurant, which serves bistro-style meals and drinks during the day, and beautifully prepared dinners by night. Sophia's bar offers classy cocktails in a sophisticated yet laid-back atmosphere.
