A great place to reward yourself after the long ski from Val d’Isère. Fantastic rustic Savoyard dishes with friendly and efficient service at much more reasonable prices than the mountain restaurants in Val d’Isère. Keep an eye on the time so you don’t miss the lifts back from Tignes Le Lac to Val d’Isère.

Open from 10am until the pistes close, Bar de l’Ouillette is located at the bottom of the green Madeleine run. It’s a good option for families, as lots of green runs surround it. The restaurant can also be accessed on foot, just a short walk from the top of the Solaise cable car. It serves a range of dishes including produce from the famous Chevallot bakery in town. Choices include soups, quiches, salads, beef filet and marinated chicken. Great place on a sunny day for a BBQ which is reasonably priced and very popular.

A very short ski from the top of the Olympique gondola, the restaurant’s large sun terrace offers panoramic views over the whole of the Espace Killy. This self-service restaurant is a bit pricey, but it’s a good stop off point for a hot chocolate or vin chaud. The cosy interior provides refuge from the cold with several fireplaces. Although only a short walk from the lift, this restaurant is not really ideal for pedestrians as it’s quite a steep and busy slope down.

Located just above the Glacier Express chair lift, with a self-service restaurant, outside soup bar and rotisserie. The Tipi bar next door is a good place to stop for a hot drink or to begin après in a relaxed atmosphere. Not that cheap considering it is self-service.

La Fruitière is considered to be one of the best table service restaurants on the mountain, although this may be based more on the atmosphere than the food, which has had mixed reviews in the past. It’s a great way to enjoy the atmosphere of the neighbouring Folie Douce but with better food and a good wine list, albeit at a considerably higher price. It is fairly child friendly, although it can get a little noisy. The restaurant offers two sittings only during busy weeks, 12.30pm and 2.00pm.

Soak up the sun on the terrace whilst enjoying the rustic and filling Savoyard specials. L’Alpage next door is a good self-service option.

One of the more sophisticated dining offerings over in Tignes, this restaurant is readily accessible to skiers and non-skiers (as long as they can travel over to Tignes), located at the top of the Grande Motte funicular from Val Claret. At the top of the Solaise cable car, La Tête de Solaise has both a self-service and a sit down restaurant. The self-service area can get quite crowded but serves reasonably priced good food with lots of options for adults and children.
