Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The camp is closed from 01 May-14 September.

Early summer (November) can be lovely, and in late summer and autumn (March) the colours are stunning. But if you’re planning to go riding in the open steppes, midsummer is wonderful. Avoid the peak summer months of January and February, since the trails in the park are particularly crowded at this time. At any time of year, Torres del Paine has its own microclimate: unpredictable. People will often tell you to expect all seasons in a single day.

Insider's View

The slow-cooked Patagonian lamb is divine. The perfect hearty meal after a hard day's walking out in the park.

Patagonia Camp serve our favorite Matetic wines, perfect for sipping by the fire after a long day in the great outdoors.

Those who are missing the spa aspect may want to book one of the yurts with a jacuzzi outside.

On Wednesday & Sundays the camp host a lamb and wine tasting evening, modelled on an asado, there's an open wood fire and staff topping up your glass with some of Chile's finest wines.

A fun, rustic option for those wanting to be close to the park and be able to do lake activities and do full day hikes. It is important to know that there is no spa and no wifi/tv in the yurts so if there is a bad weather day, there is not much to do but relax. Those who want to mingle will like it here as people do hang out in the common areas, chatting or enjoying a drink. The yurts very cozy and have all the necessities. The wind blew really hard the night I was there and it woke me up, therefore, the yurts might not be ideal for a light sleeper. Good option for those who will not be spending much time in their room but enjoying the park. Staff was lovely and very friendly.

Patagonia camp is the perfect choice for anyone wanting to get close to nature without compromising on comfort. The yurts are dotted about the hillside and each comes with a view over the lake to the famous granite spires of the Torres del Paine National Park beyond. Each yurt is light filled (there is a perspex covered opening at the top of each for star-gazing from the comfort of your bed) and they come with a private bathrooms with enough space for a bathtub and double sink. The main lodge itself is cosy and inviting, guide briefings are held in the Puma room, where guests can help themselves to fishing gear to fish trout straight from the lake or nearby rivers or you can hire one of the lodge's expert guides. Other highlights are the nearby waterfall and trips into the Torres del Paine National Park, such as hiking to the base of the towers, horseback riding and kayaking.
