Itinerary

Fy to Maun International Airport
Day 1-4

Duba Concession, Okavango Delta and Moremi, Botswana

Depart London in a private jet and fly directly to Maun, before you head to the bush on your private air transfer.  You will be spending your first three nights at the utterly gorgeous Duba Plains Camp, built on a wooded island, connected to the wildlife grounds by an elaborate set of bridges.  One of the most remote luxury tented camps in the region, with only six bespoke tents, they all sit on raised decking with views of the surrounding floodplain and the steady stream of wildlife parading past. Each tent has a lounge area, a private veranda, beautifully appointed en-suite facilities and a private plunge pool and rest area.  The food they can produce in Duba Plains will take your breath away from their al fresco lighter lunches to a 5 course tasting supper you will be spoilt.

You will feel relaxed and well rested before you head out on the prestigious game drives and guided bush walks that Duba Plains pride themselves in.  Available during the day and evening, bringing the plains to life as you soak up the landscape and the diversity of wildlife around you. You will also have the option to travel through the peaceful waterways of the Okavango Delta on a boat safari, exploring the papyrus reeds and hippo habitats with your guide. The smooth ride offers a soothing alternative to time spent in a vehicle. Always subject to water levels.  Take out of the professional grade cameras and use the photography studio with your excellent guide to ensure you make the most of your photos whilst you’re there.

Day 4-7

Selinda Concession, Linyanti, Botswana

Jet from one stunning camp to another. From Duba Plains you will be transferred to Omdop Airstrip for your private air transfer to Selinda Airstrip. On arrival, you will be transferred to Selinda Camp for the next three nights. This stunning camp comprises three expansive guest tents, each under thatch with large en-suite bathrooms, a private veranda and swimming pool.  Built on a shady island overlooking the waters of the dramatic Selinda Spillway, an ephemeral waterway which is the focal point in a vast private concession in northern Botswana. With its large, game-rich floodplains, Selinda Camp offers a sublime wildlife experience and tremendous exclusivity.  The main area of the camp has an interactive chef's kitchen, a wine cellar and spa, as well as artwork by Keith Joubert. The camp also has a plunge pool for you to enjoy and refresh between safari drives.

Home to some of the classic species, such as leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, zebra and giraffe, it is also a refuge for some of the more uncommon species such as African wild dog, cheetah, roan and sable antelopes.  Daily activities at Selinda Camp revolve around morning, afternoon and night game drives with experienced, professional guides in custom-built 4x4 Land Cruisers. Short walks from camp accompanied by a guide are encouraged to get to know some of Selinda's smaller creatures. You can also take to the waterways for peaceful cruising to see what bird and river species you can spot.  With photography being a strong focus at Selinda, the camp is recommended for both professionals and amateurs.

Why not take a bird's-eye view of this beauty from a helicopter flying low over the Delta? Your skilled pilot will take you up high to give you an incredible view for miles and miles, and then swoop down low to spot elephants grazing on an island, chain-link hippos in the channels, and even shy and elusive game making its careful way through the shallows.

Day 7-10

Xigera Concession, Okavango Delta and Moremi, Botswana

After your last morning wildlife viewing experience at Selinda your private air transfer will take you to Xigera Airstrip. On arrival, you will be transferred to Xigera Safari Lodge for your 3 night stay.

Xigera is the epitome of luxury safari. A brand new, uber luxurious and sustainable lodge in the heart of the delta. The 12 unique rooms blend seamlessly with the surroundings, clad in charred timber, brushed copper accents and hand carved wood, with astonishing views over the floodplain. While away the days in the inky black swimming pool, the large gym, incredibly luxurious spa or just hunker down in a “nest” created by a South African Artist to watch the wildlife wander by. Xigera boasts African-inspired cuisine, and evening drinks are enjoyed in the lounge and dining area complete with an open fireplace overlooking a permanently flowing channel, or under the stars on the star deck or even in the traditional African boma.

You will be blown away by the unrivalled scenery here, excellent diversity of wildlife and huge abundance of bird species.  Game viewing can be particularly enjoyed at Xigera by mokoro a mandatory activity at Xigera Camp! On this traditional dug-out canoe, the only sounds are the rustling of the wind through the reeds, the lapping of the water against the boat, and the call of the African Fish-Eagle. The blue of the sky is mirrored in the water, broken only by large round water lily leaves and their stunning purple and white flowers. A special highlight is the seasonal catch-and-release fishing you can enjoy here, an excellent fishing destination for both fly fishing and traditional spin fishing. There are several tilapia (bream) species, sharp tooth catfish, African pike and the mighty Tiger fish to be found here.

Spend a night away from the lodge in the remote Baobab Tree structure. A 3 level tree house devoid of electricity you will be in the heart of the bush by candle light. A large master bedroom with the potential for 360 degree views, an open air deck as well as a large bathroom with a walk in shower.
