Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

The atmosphere at Colony Club is grown up yet relaxed with beautifully wholesome menu options offering the freshest catch of the day with a few Bajan sides to sample the divine local flavours. The beach here has such incredibly soft sand, your feet will just sink! Being located in the heart of the west coast you are ideally situated to explore nearby Holetown and it's exciting restaurant scene. Also being part of the Elegant group, a real bonus for staying at Colony Club is that you can have a change of scenery should you wish at a sister hotel and get there by the shuttle boat - arrive in style!

I felt myself relax the minute I arrived at Colony Club, with it's beautiful tropical gardens. Colonial in style, the hotel has seen a recent refurbishment to some of its rooms and there is exciting news of a new spa coming soon.
The resort has lagoon style pools, which snake their way around the hotel grounds and the luxury swim-up poolside rooms have direct access! You can also swim up to the bar and order your favourite cocktail en route to the beach.
Watersports are complimentary and available from the beach. There are Hobie cats, kayaks, SUPs, and Sunfish dinghies to play around on the gentle waters, as well as a floating platform which is lovely to swim out to in the evening and watch the sun go down.
If you're travelling with children, the Kids Corner is open seasonally for 3 - 12 year olds and offers a huge array of activities from jewellery making to beach games. I know my children would love this if I could tear them away from the beach!

More traditional in style, The Colony Club located on the beach front offers a choice of 4 pools (some rooms have direct access) and offer a great water taxi service to their sister properties which allows you to take full advantage of a choice of restaurants if you are staying on the half board dine around plan. Take a visit to their own organic garden and you get the chance to explore the island with the hotels complimentary weekly island tour.

The Colony Club is a traditional resort style hotel, with four lagoon style swimming pools meandering through the gardens. It does feel a little busier than some of our other properties, so service can be a little slower, particularly as things get busier towards lunch time. A recent refurbishment of many of the rooms and the restaurant have really freshened things up.
Anna Northeast (Staff)
More of a traditional Caribbean resort, when you arrive at Colony Club you really feel like you are on holiday. From the steel band playing in the gardens to the swim up bar, this is a fun place to be. They have a great little concept with a swimming pool meandering through the gardens and giving many of the rooms direct pool access.
Although there is no particular children's club set up, this is a family friendly place and they do offer suites. They're not huge, but will accommodate a family with up to 2 small children in a small separate lounge. They also arrange children's activities during the main holidays.
Colony Club isn't the most sophisticated of the Barbados 5 star hotels, however, it offers a Caribbean feel and friendly surroundings close to the main diversions of the island.
