Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

I loved the tranquillity of the gardens here that allow you to find little corners of privacy and the views across the gardens out to the beach are fabulous. The lap pool is a great recent addition and the best pool for laps and proper swimming I saw throughout my time in Barbados. The lunch we had here was the best that we had throughout our stay in Barbados, beautifully presented and delicious, a real foodies paradise. Small and intimate with a very loyal following, I would recommend this for those looking for a quiet, sophisticated stay away from the glitzier resorts. This would be a lovely place for couples to spend quality time together.

The Sandpiper is a great hideaway hotel, the beautiful tropical grounds offer lots of places to relax with a cool drink and read a book.
You can tell that the property is family owned as the attention to detail is so meticulous and its styled in a very homely Asian Caribbean decor.
The introduction of a new adult-only pool provides a welcome retreat, as does their policy of not having children under the age of 5 in the restaurant in the evenings.
The Treetop Suite is something rather special with its wrap around balcony and outside dining area. It also has a plunge pool on the balcony so you can soak up the rays in relative peace!
As a water sports enthusiast, I was keen to see what they had. All of the regular non-motorised watersports are included such as kayaking, Hobie cats and Sunfish dinghy sailing and they also have complimentary water skiing.
The Sandpiper is a real jewel on the west coast!

The Sandpiper is located on a lovely stretch of beach, with tropical gardens and a homely relaxed atmosphere. The hotel have a weekly garden tour along with tennis coaching 6 days a week if you fancy a break from the beach and pool. The hotel is in a great location and is in walking distance from Holetown, which offers a range of shops, restaurants and bars.

The Sandpiper is a lovely little hotel, with a great location, just a few minutes walk along the beach to Holetown. It is located right on a narrow stretch of beach and efforts are in place to widen this with the addition of some stone breakwaters. You can already see this working. The rooms are very comfortable, and located throughout beautiful gardens. Each of the suites has a little kitchenette which is really convenient for drinks and snacks.

The Sandpiper is one of my favourite hotels in Barbados. As soon as I arrived at the property I felt like I had been welcomed into someones home. It has a charming and intimate atmosphere, which comes as a result of being a family-owned boutique hotel. Wayne and Karen Capaldi do a fantastic job of making every guest feel special. The hotel is set in tropical gardens offering a peaceful and tranquil haven in which to relax, away from the buzz and liveliness of Barbados. But if you are looking for entertainment and nightlife, then you are within easy reach of Holetown where there are shops, bars and restaurants. I have to point out that the beach is quite thin along this west coast of Barbados, but The Sandpiper makes up for this, by offering a great variety of water sports including complimentary water-skiing! And if you are looking for some indulgence you must try the new Spa located next door at their sister property, Coral Reef Club - it really is beautiful. I would definitely recommend having breakfast delivered to your room one morning where you can wake up leisurely, sipping coffee from the comfort of your terrace or balcony looking out over the gardens to the Caribbean sea.
