Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
As Hamilton Island is in the Whitsundays and not as far north as some islands on the Great Barrier Reef the weather is not quite so extreme. The best time to visit is still between April and October but it is still well worth a visit the rest of the year.
Insider's View
To start planning your holiday to Hamilton Island Beach Club
Description
Designed with adults only in mind, this upscale boutique hotel is one of Hamilton Island's most grown up escapes. With dreamy interiors, a beach front location and easy access to restaurants, this perfectly positioned hotel is a fantastic option.
The Beach Club, a grown up boutique resort, is perched on Catseye Beach, one of Hamilton Island's most popular beaches with translucent white sand and gently lapping water. With a strict over 18 policy, the property feels quiet and elegant without feeling formal; it definitely has a laid back beachy vibe.
The light filled rooms are beautiful; think paired back wooded floors, light contemporary wooden furniture, traditional shutters, soft linens and splashes of blue. Some have a patio and others have a balcony, but they all share the same New England light and airy style that we love. Each room looks out to the sea through the tropical vegetation; from here you are just a gentle walk down to the beach and to the infinity pool.
Facilities are arguably a little limited, with the one sleek pool and the wonderful Beach Club Restaurant that serves fresh seafood and classic beach side meals. However, don't let this worry you as there so many facilities on Hamilton Island that are an easy drive, buggy ride or walk to and you can simply charge things back to your room - the beauty of Hamilton Island. The concierge and reception can easily organise non motorised water sports for free, excursions to the Great Barrier Reef, restaurant and spa reservations.
We feel this is an excellent option for couples of friends wanting to indulge in a sophisticated hotel on a great beach. It's particularly great for people who like to eat in different locations in the evening, as there are so many options.
Accommodation
There are 57 newly refurbished light and airy rooms that enjoy magnificent views through the palm trees and out to sea. We love the paired back New England style as it feels brilliantly in keeping with the beachy vibe of Hamilton Island. All rooms are the same, however some have patios and others balconies.
Childcare
Please note that The Beach club does not accept children under the age of 18.
Facilities
Guests can enjoy a range of facilities including an infinity pool and the wonderful restaurant. Compared to other resorts of this size, there isn't a huge range of facilities and this is due to there being so many options nearby on the island. The reception can book a massage at Spa Wumurdaylin, time at the nearby sports club, can reserve tables at any of the restaurants on the island and book excursions out to the Great Barrier Reef. It is then possible to charge any expenses on the island back to your room.
Activities
There is a plethora of wonderful activities on Hamilton Island, and this is the major attraction for most visitors. Enjoy non motorised water sports at The Beach Club but otherwise head out to The Great Barrier Reef, to enjoy diving and snorkelling; visit Whitehaven Beach, for truly idyllic beach scenery; charter boats; enjoy sunset cruises and even explore by seaplane or helicopter.
