The tour begins at 09:00 with a transfer from Topas Ecolodge to Sin Chai Village, home to the Black H’Mong hill tribe community. The Black H’Mong are perhaps the most resilient and iconic ethnic group in the northern highlands of Vietnam. Migrating from China centuries ago, they have shaped the dramatic landscapes of Sapa and Ha Giang, turning steep mountain slopes into the world-famous terraced rice fields seen today.
The village sits at the foot of Fansipan Mountain in an area covered by rainforest and protected by Hoang Lien National Park. Upon arrival, start a walk to discover more about the daily life of the villagers who still maintain their ancestor’s way of life.
Continue the walk out of the village, following a dirt trail that runs through rice paddies and corn hills alongside a narrow river. Enjoy the spectacular surrounding scenery. After a short walk, reach a suspension bridge where a visit to a local house, belonging to one of the few Black H’mong families living here, is offered.
Return to the village centre before the transfer back to Topas Eco Lodge.
