Chatham is a picturesque seaside town located on the elbow of the Cape Cod. It boasts the quaint and walkable Main Street which is lined with family-owned restaurants, shops and businesses, with not a chain store in sight. The town is renowned for its relaxed beach culture, water activities and seafaring history, with the attraction all within walking distance. There are often festivals, parades, concerts and fireworks on display during the summer months. No visit to the town is complete without a trip to the see the iconic Chatham Lighthouse overlooking the harbour.

Guests can choose to stay in the elegantly decorated guest rooms in the recently renovated Main Inn with its original grand staircase and splendid reception room. Or those who seek a more private experience can opt to stay in one of the rooms located in 26 cottages dotted around the resort with their private terraces located amongst the gardens or on the beach. The Spa suites are perfect for adults in search of pampering boasting their own hydrotherapy tubs, saunas, steam showers, massage tables and fireplaces in addition to having easy access to the resort’s spa facilities.
The Spa itself includes wet and dry treatment rooms, a Vichy shower room, and an outdoor relaxation pool surrounded by lushly landscaped gardens with private cabanas.
With a choice of four restaurants to dine at, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Choose to dine at the stylish Stars restaurant with breath taking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, or at the Beach House Grill right by the sand. The Tavern, with its cosy ambiance and welcoming bar serves great cocktails and on Fridays and Saturdays indulge in afternoon tea on a deep sofa whilst nibbling on a selection of tasty cakes and sandwiches.
Other than the obvious attraction of the sand and surf, there are plenty of activities on offer for all ages and interests: Why not charter the resort’s private jet boat over to the neighbouring island of Martha’s Vineyard? Or hire a bike and cycle some of the 35 miles of the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Drive through the dunes of Nauset beach in one of the hotel’s Landrovers (bring your international licence) or take a walk with the in-house naturalist through the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge with its colony of Grey Seals.
The seas off Cape Cod are rich in marine life, whale excursions run from Provincetown throughout the summer and there’s fantastic sport fishing to be had from the hotel’s own state-of-the-art fishing boat. There are clay tennis courts, nearby golf courses and well-equipped fitness centre.
Chatham Bars Inn is the perfect choice for families. Children’s programs run throughout the summer for children from 4 till 12 years, who are divided into three separate age groups. There’s arts and crafts, dressing up, beach Olympics, miniature golf, cookery classes, scavenger hunts, beach parties to name a few..
