Carmel is an all-year destination if you like fine dining and shopping. For nature lovers, the coast is wonderfully wild in winter and you can go whale-watching and birding; spring sees wonderful flower displays, and there are a host of watersports to be tried at the beach in the summer; autumn brings harvest bounty and temperatures are usually still balmy. The fog is present on the coast mostly in June and July but usually burns off by lunchtime. Carmel valley's slight inland location is outside the fog bank and the area enjoys over 300 days of sunshine.

Nestled in a stunning location in the Carmel valley, The Bernadus really is a hidden gem and a welcome getaway for those exploring Carmel. It is clear the designers were attentive to detail throughout the property with some incredible dcor and gardens, which equally match the elegance in a really beautiful way. We experienced incredible service with staff very accommodating, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and the history of the hotel. There is also a lovely outdoor deck with fireplace, perfect for an evenings relaxation with a glad of locally sourced wine. The Spa is amazing, the lawns are superb and in general, this was a wonderful experience.

The hotel is fresh, modern and classy. The lobby is luxuriously designed with quirky touches, lots of natural lights emphasis here is really on quality and style, and good wine! The hotel produces their own wine which is delicious you get a glass on check in and a bottle in your room. Rooms are bright and sunny all with good views and a high end finish. The views are incredible of the Valley, with lots of greenery, flowers and open spaces. The restaurant is amazing, lots of seafood and twists on classic dishes. There is a huge wine list and cellar great for wine lovers. Not hugely suitable for children, although they are welcome, the resort is much more suited to adults and honeymooners looking for a quiet exclusive stay and some luxury touches. The spa is incredible and uses Moroccan Oil products
