Meander through Merida

Observe the city's colonial architecture, museums and its vibrant atmosphere. The city's cathedral, dating from 1598 is an impressive building located on the main square that horses and carts regularly trot around and is well worth a visit. If your visit happens to fall on a Sunday make sure you venture out of your hotel. Every Sunday the main roads are closed to traffic and the local community spill out onto the streets with their bicycles and tables and chairs.
In the evening you could pay a visit to one of the many fantastic restaurants in Merida, such as Pancho's where your delicious after dinner coffee is served Mayan style, on fire and as part of an impressive performance.
