If the thought of lazing on a sun drenched beach with nothing to do leaves you cold, if you'd rather be white water rafting down the Zambezi than sipping cocktails by the pool, or if the prospect of holing up in a grass thatched bungalow seems less love nest and more cabin fever...maybe an adventure honeymoon is the answer.

After the excitement of the build up to your big day, it's fabulous to jet off to somewhere dreamy and simply flop on a strip of silver sand for a week or two. From pine-fringed coves to chic coastal towns and world class surf spots, our portfolio of the best beach destinations can be laid back or spiced up with a splash of adventure.

The backdrop for some of the world’s most famous love stories, Europe with its ancient cities, quaint villages, varied landscapes and delicious food, is the perfect honeymoon destination. Wander hand in hand through cobblestone backstreets or hike through Scotland’s heather-carpeted Highlands; or soak up the sun amid orange and lemon trees on an island hideaway in Croatia.

From the temples of Angkor Wat to Shinto shrines in Miyajima, Japan, add some culture to your honeymoon, or combine a cultural journey with a few lazy days somewhere romantic.
The Best Destinations for Luxury Honeymoons
From traveling through the fascinating cultural hubs of Vietnam and Cambodia to exploring Venice by boat or dining al fresco on the Amalfi Coast, our honeymoon packages promise to offer a romantic, joyful and unforgettable experience that you’ll forever remember. A honeymoon in January is not only a fabulous opportunity to escape the British winter - it is also one of the best times of year to visit the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and parts of Australasia. Or if you'd rather embrace the winter, January is a great month for a ski honeymoon in the Alps! Our honeymoon specialists recommend honeymoon destinations and itineraries that work best for a honeymoon in January.
For those craving some winter sun on their honeymoon, there’s plenty on offer in February, as well as fabulous skiing in the Alps and North America. Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia are all wonderful too, as well as South Africa. East Africa is great for safaris at this time – or for gorgeous African beaches, Zanzibar is a good choice. In the west, there’s the Caribbean and parts of South America. February is when you can experience Rio’s carnival – we can even arrange your carnival tickets for you.
If you prefer balmy climes at this time of year a honeymoon in March is the perfect opportunity to visit the Maldives and Sri Lanka as they are in their prime season, as well as plenty of south east Asia, including Malaysia and Vietnam. Japan is a treat in late March, too – this is when you can see the cherry blossom in all its glory - an omen for good fortune and an emblem for love.
For a honymoon in the sun, Mauritius and the Seychelles are good choices, as well as the Caribbean and parts of Central America. Further south, Chile is full of potential adventures and exotic sights. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia’s blissful islands are waiting to be discovered, and in Thailand, New Year is celebrated from 13-15 April at the Songkran festival.
If you are looking to go on your honeymoon in May the European continent is warming up nicely. South East Asia is beautiful at this time of year, as well as Australasia. China and Japan are other exciting options, or for African beaches and amazing blue waters, Mozambique is a good choice in May.
For a honeymoon in Europe, Italy is incredibly romantic and is beautiful at this time of year. Beyond Europe, there is all kinds of wonderful wildlife to experience in June. You could head to Western Australia for whale sharks, or Madagascar for its myriad of extraordinary species of animal and plant. Elsewhere in Africa, this is prime game viewing season in Zambia and Malawi. Then there’s the Caribbean and the adventure of Colombia and Peru, to name just a few more exciting destinations for a honeymoon in June.
If you are looking to honeymoon in July, the Mediterranean is perhaps at its best, before parts become a little too hot for some in August. Couples can find romance in Italy’s cities, and the endless beaches across the Med. If a tropical desert island is what you are looking for, many parts of south east Asia are perfect in July, or, if you want natural spectacles, head to Africa. The great migration is full flow, with wildebeest, zebras and Thomson’s gazelle making their annual arrival in the luscious grasslands of the Massai Mara, where the big five have been waiting for months.
For a honeymoon in Europe, you could head to Cyprus or Spain, or to Rome which comes alive for 6 weeks of the summer, with memorable live music from opera to rock, open air film screens, hundreds of galleries and Cabaret festivals. Further a-field, Australia has plenty to offer couples, and Africa is in its game-viewing prime, and in Chile you can ski!
September is great time to go on honeymoon, with plenty on offer. If you want to head East, Dubai and Oman are wonderful in September, and further still, Japan and China, are in their prime, too. As well as offering fabulous game viewing, Africa’s ocean waters are equally as enticing. This is the best of year to spot humpback whales in Tanzania, and to go diving in Mozambique. South America also has lots to offer, including skiing in Chile, and all kinds of adventures in Argentina.
For those who are looking to spot wildlife on their honeymoon, the migration is still taking place in East Africa, displaying the wildlife in all its glory. In Mozambique it’s a good time to spot humpback whales and go diving in the corals. The islands of the Indian Ocean also lure many sun-seekers around this time. From eating sun-ripened mango in Rajasthan, to snorkeling in Mauritius or cruising down the Nile in Egypt, there’s a rich choice of things to do and places to see if you are going on honeymoon in October.
If you are looking for a rich cultural experience on your honeymoon, the Ganga festival is taking place along the great river Ganges in India as the city of Varanasi pays tribute to the river that has been their lifeline for centuries. White sands, green peaks and emerald waters in the Caribbean. Surfing hot spots, windswept prairies and tabletop mountains along the Brazilian coast. Ruined palaces, zebu markets and whale watching in Madagascar. November is also a fine time for an exotic honeymoon.
If you are keen to get some winter sun on your honeymoon before the festive season, or you fancy spending your first Christmas together somewhere exotic, there is a huge choice of destinations that are fabulous in December. You could opt for hot, white sand and deep azure lagoons in Thailand, sailing in the Caribbean, plunging gorges and thick jungles in Mexico, or misty forests, winding rivers and majestic volcanoes in Costa Rica.
